Built in the early 1990's by Roger Musgrove as a playground for the Thurston county mounted posse, Flying M Stables has been home to countless equestrian activities over the years. Purchased in 2018 by Stratford and Sarah Mills along with her parents, we have been working to restore this facility as one of the community favorites. We house a 30000 square foot horse arena and 28 stall barn and 1/2 mile exercise track on 41 sprawling acres. Minutes from I-5 for easy access to nearby Millersylvania State Park, Capitol Forest, Downtown Olympia and the Farmers Market as well as Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve.

Offering a lovely, personal campsite area surrounded by beautiful trees nestled in the back of a ranch with horses (and chickens) just on the outskirts of the small, charming town of Yelm. (In some of the pictures you will see the horses in the area of the camp, but whenever there are campers they will not be turned out there.) There is 30 amp electric and water (hose). There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience. 1 Hour to Mt. Rainier National Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia National Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing can be enjoyed nearby. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses. There is also a fabulous movie theater. And only 15 minutes to the Red Wind Casino. There is a railroad track next to the property, but it is only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm when a short train passes by and then returns. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but not often and it has never run after dark or early morning. (It is a military train so pretty punctual). (Also, as we are only a 5 acre property, we are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads though and not highly traveled for the most part.) **Trigger Warning: We are near the military base of JBLM and so you will occasionally hear their military doings. As we are a horse property, we will also require that you sign a standard release of liability waiver.

Great place to explore the nearby biking trail and rainbow falls state park. Rv hook ups worked and there was a really nice bathroom with shower. Also has creek/river access! Host was nice and came by to make sure we had the lay of the land. Highly recommend

Weekend Trip to RV+ Rainbow Falls / Willapa Trails
We stayed in spot #4 in the grass at RV+ Rainbow Falls / Willapa Trails, and it was a fantastic trip! The grassy site gave us an incredible view of the night sky—stars were out in full force, and we spent hours just soaking it in. The RV spots were extremely wide, which made setting up super easy and gave us plenty of room to spread out. We loved hiking the trails on the property—they were a blast for us and our dogs, who couldn’t get enough of them. Along the way, we spotted deer, a small snake, and even a beautiful trillium bloom in the forest, which felt like a little gift from nature. Dunn Creek runs through the property, and we could hear it from our campsite, adding such a peaceful vibe. The whole farm was clean and well-kept, which we really appreciated. Dan, the host, was awesome. He stopped by twice to check on us, always with a smile, and he’s seriously knowledgeable about the forest—answered all our questions like a pro. He made us feel right at home and was a huge part of why we enjoyed our stay so much. It was a great spot for our dogs too—they thrived out there on the trails. All in all, a top-notch place to park the RV and unwind. We’d definitely come back—thanks, Dan, for being such a great host!

Flying M Stables offered exactly what we needed—a quiet, convenient escape just outside Olympia. While the site itself is situated by the stable parking lot, it had full hookups including sewer, which made our stay comfortable and easy. We especially enjoyed waking up to folks unloading their horses for the schooling show happening during our visit. It was a treat to watch a few sessions and take in the peaceful countryside surroundings. We also loved getting to pet a few friendly barn cats and see a variety of other farm animals around the property. Stratford was incredibly helpful and flexible with all our requests—cannot say enough good things about this place. A great spot for a low-key, nature-focused getaway.

This was a great place for my family to stay, We ended staying for awhile. The views were nice and the animals were friendly. The game room was a good place for the kids to get away from us and enjoy some free time. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to relax and get away from it all. It is also close to plenty of hiking. The hosts (Len and Kimberly) were helpful but gave us our space & privacy, they are super nice and friendly.

I booked this site in the last minute because I couldn’t get to the original RV site I booked due to roads condition. It was supposed to be one night but I found it conveniently located to the Mt. Rainier National Park and very peaceful area. I ended up extending the stay. The host was very helpful as well as other RV resident on site. It was my first RV trip so I was quite intimidated but the host was super helpful setting up the water/power hookups. I highly recommend for the weekend stay or as base campsite for National Park adventures.

Decent landing spot for an urban adventure in Olympia. The area for the trailers was pretty muddy, but lots of hard rain, so not much you can do about that. Easy to get in and out of. Kids enjoyed that there was a dog show happening that weekend on the grounds.

(This is a leave no trace site. You must take all of your garbage with you!) Just 1.5 hours from Seattle, Portland, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, & Olympic National Park, just 3 minutes from Rainbow Falls State Park and 4 minutes from Willapa Biking Trail! We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 56 acres of mixed biomes including multi-generational forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn onto Labri road (white sign) and you're on the property after going through a gate. Meander down the road past a red barn and several buildings on your right. Through the second gate, the dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed through the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left (look for a blue and white ribbon) you will come up to a tree line where you can park (another blue and white ribbon) and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp. You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek. The most ideal spot is right after you park near the blue and white ribbon if you walk North you'll see a site marked with an orange and white ribbon. This site has easy access to the creek but is still on a hill. There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. We have two RV sites with no hook up (boondocking) but bathroom and shower access. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park. The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds. We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events. 6 mi from Jones Creek Brewing, 7 mi from Evey's Cafe & Pe Ell, 20 mi from I-5, 69 mi Westport Quiet hours are from 11pm - 8am.

Property is a 5-acre gated horse farm surrounded by wooded military property on 3 sides. Conveniently located 15-20 minutes from Tacoma and Olympia. Just 5 mins to Starbucks/coffee and grocery stores but far enough away from the city so it feels more secluded. American Lake and Spanaway Lake (and their parks with playgrounds) for swimming and paddle boarding are both just 5 mins away! The owner lives on site, as well as several horses, chickens, and a dog. Large stone fire pit with chairs near house is available for camper use. Pending: Paddle board rental and bicycles for use on property or trails! Set-up your tent anywhere within the horse paddocks - there are no specific sites, although there is a small fire pit and rustic bench seating at far back corner of property. Tents can be outside of horse areas as well, if preferred. RV dry camping anywhere within or outside horse areas. For RVs needing dedicated electrical/water hookup, there are specific sites closer to the house. ***If you are travelling with more than one vehicle, please purchase an car extra parking spot.*** Only four 30amp RV spots are available and are most easily accessible for Rvs under 30'. Standard 110volt outlets can also be available for RV use. Woodbrook Hunt Club, the oldest fox hunting club west of the Mississippi, is a neighbor so lots of horseback riding goes on in the neighborhood. (Dragged scent only, no live foxes are harmed.) Private horseback riding lessons or guided trail rides available by reservation only, subject to weather and owner availability. There is a full game room for your enjoyment and free wifi. Both sites are full RV sites with 50 amp, water, sewer. We have 42' RV available for rental as well that is across from the site, there may be tenants staying there during your stay. We are the doorstep to Mt. Rainier and all of its' glory. Less than an hours drive from Crystal Mountain Resort. Located at the top of Carbon Canyon we have endless trails for hiking, horse riding, and motor sports. Feel free to bring your toys and you can drive right off the property. You will be staying in a rural area next to horses, goats, pigs, chickens. A little about Orting - Nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier between the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers, Orting is a quaint Turn-of-the-Century village that you will not forget. The town center is anchored by three parks filled with giant maples and evergreens. You will be awed by the view of Mt. Rainier from Washington Avenue. The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Enjoy the turn-of-the-century architecture of downtown and eat at one of the 15 restaurants. If your timing is right you can take part in the Daffodil festival and parade the first Saturday of April. The Kingsmen Car show comes to town the third Saturday in June. Then there is the Pumpkin festival the second weekend of October. Finally the year is capped off with the Christmas festival throughout December. Then there are the many foot and bike races that take place on the foothills trail throughout the year.
