Sage
This is a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. The site had everything we needed, and the shower was a treat. Be sure to go for a hike along the canal.

Best spot to camp in the area !
I absolutely loved this enchanting place to park my 32’ bus. The owner were very welcoming, kind and helpful. There’s a beautiful creek a few minutes away where I loves taking my morning walks. Easy access to Nevada city. Very quiet and peaceful !

Hawthorne
Our hosts are new to Hipcamp and working hard to ensure a great experience. The property is well off the beaten path, yet a beautiful 2 mile canal hike into downtown Nevada city. The toilet, shower and changing room is a nice and unexpected bonus. Hosts are super friendly and helpful. My only suggestion is to double down in signage and directions, as it was a little confusing figuring out to get there (we inadvertently ended up at Loren’s home as the sign to campsite blew down). All in all a nice visit.

Peaceful and quiet camping
We loved this campground for its quiet beauty, great camping neighbors, and while it has no hookups, the sink, hot shower, flushing toilets are well maintained and was refreshing. Location is great and felt securely off the beaten path, yet a close drive to town, or to the Yuba river and local outdoor activities. The hosts were nearby and checked on new arrivals promptly, adding hospitable comfort. My 19’ GeoPro trailer towed behind my full size pickup made it down the gravel road, over the narrow bridge, and between the trees just fine. Living locally, this was a welcome escape and will keep this on the go-to list and recommend. Would be a great group site for tent and small trailer campers. There was even a bus sized camper that made it in there just fine.

Convenient location and amenities
Our stay at Sage was lovely, the land is beautiful and quiet and an hour walk to town along the clear water canal. The amenities and drinking water were top notch.
