Wandering Caboose Ranch is the perfect getaway for nature lovers! We're located about 20 minutes from the Cabazon outlets, Morongo Casino and 25 minutes from Idyllwild! Come enjoy 20 acres of quiet green rolling hills and cool breezes. We have a designated hill top for your camping enjoyment. We can also provide a tent (fits up to 4 people) and queen size mattress if needed! Also included; BBQ grill, campfire, picnic table and lawn chairs. A camping toilet is on the campsite. Pets are definitely allowed, feel free to walk your dogs on our dirt roads. You can even stop by for a visit with our goats, ducks and chickens. At night, you won't want to miss the incredible view of the stars and the colorful lights of the Morongo Casino! Come see for yourself! Feel free to reach out with any questions. Happy camping!Come enjoy an entire hill top for your camping adventure! No hookups, just beautiful nature! The hilltop is cleared for tents, vans/vehicles or smaller RV's. We have a BBQ grill for your cooking needs and a propane firepit to enjoy at night. We also have a fire extinguisher available, just to be cautious. 2 lawn chairs overlook the gorgeous mountain and valley views. If needed, we can provide a camping tent (fits up to 4 people), a queen size mattress and a portable camping toilet. Feel free to bring your pets and explore the land! Look up at the night stars for an unforgettable view and in the morning, wake up overlooking a sea of clouds in the valley below. Friendly helpful host, prompt at communicating. Loved the views and the seclusion, the dogs loved the freedom. It would be nice if all the previous campers had been courteous enough to clean up after thier dogs.

This is a hidden gem near Idyllwild. We went during Labor Day weekend and it was H-O-T. Building/ bringing a large shade structure and drinking gallons of water were essential to get through the height of the heat during day, but the dusk brought perfect evening temperatures with amazing pastel color-filled, nearly 360 degree view of the mountains followed by view of many stars--wow. The amenities are considerate, including a propane fire pit and bbq grill, a stable wooden picnic table, and a MIST fan atttached to a large bucket of water (which made a huge difference in cooling us down). There was even a sophisticated looking, clean camp toilet about a minute walk towards the mountain view (with some dry brush to navigate through), which we wish we had discovered sooner during our stay! We felt the peace of having the whole space to ourselves with our pup free to be off leash without disturbance. Few insects, mainly ants near the picnic table.and on the groud (We set up our tent on our truck bed.) The host was personable and prompt in communication! Looking forward to visiting again when the season changes!

I loved tent camping on Matthew’s land! Beautiful view. The table and propane fire place was great, as was the fan with water spraying.

Camping with a view
We loved camping at Wandering Caboose Ranch. The view was spectacular. They accommodated us well. We got the two add-ons and they were worth the extra money. Great stay and would highly recommend it as a great place to go and camp!

Hilltop Mountain Views
Tent camping on this beautiful hilltop was so wonderful! It was a bit last minute but everything was so lovely from the grill to view of the full moon rising over the mountains!
