The Iberia Market Garden is private property and a project started in 2014 to bring healthy fresh vegetables and economic investment to the surrounding low-income neighborhood. The property has had various garden areas added over the years and is a great place to relax and meditate. Proceeds from Hipcamp go toward supporting garden upkeep and operations. Learn more about this land: The fenced-in site is in a well lived in, low-income, busy neighborhood of New Iberia. The hosts live in the small brick cottage in front. The property is surrounded by gardens for guests to enjoy. There is a 15AMP regular outlet to plug into and a nearby water hose for travelers to use.The site is in a busy neighborhood of New Iberia. The property is surrounded by vegetable and flower gardens for guests to enjoy.  An old garage currently under a slow remodeling is available for use as an outhouse with off-grid amenities: a bio toilet, cold water sink, solar heated outdoor shower, an on demand propane hot water shower and methane biogas stove is available for use. The off-grid outhouse is solar powered.

Garden Parking & Off-grid Outhouse
We loved Phanat's amazing and unusual place. It was peaceful and very interesting and waking up in a thriving community garden was wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable. Phanat's enterprise is very impressive and we also loved meeting his dogs, Peanut and Lithy. Definitely worth a side trip to New Iberia.

Garden Parking & Off-grid Outhouse
We booked last minute and Phanat was very responsive. He greeted us at the gate and helped us park and get settled. We flipped the breaker around 10pm and I sent a message and he came right out to help. We parked right by the garden and enjoyed some delicious ripe figs with breakfast. Peanut, the dog, was so helpful and great at entertaining our kids too! The off grid toilet and shower was a nice option to have too. It was an awesome place to stay. We loved that it was a unique place to stay and Phanat was so kind.

Garden oasis
Awesome oasis in the middle of town. Very accommodating, and had everything we needed. Beautiful garden area for meditation. Instant on hot shower was a bonus we didn’t expect.

A wonderful stay w/ a gracious host
We had a wonderful stay with Phanat. His community garden was a wonderful base from which to explore Southwest Louisiana. He and his group of interns were most welcoming and it was a joy to stay here. We extended our stay and will be back when we’re in the area again
