Once the location of a ski resort, this property was bought up by the competition and dismantled. Sitting on top of the old ski hill, this 10 acre property now offers a beautiful view of Barney Lake and the surrounding state forest. This property is situated near a dirt road that leads directly into hundreds of miles of off-road trails and state forest, yet is close enough to town (7 miles) to enjoy the local establishments. No access to the lake is available from the site, but there are plenty of other lakes and rivers in the area to enjoy!Set up your tent, RV, or camper with a beautiful view of the surrounding state forest and overlook of Barney Lake. Located just 2 miles off 127, enjoy this private site with fire ring and picnic table. Access to miles of off road trails, state land, and quick access to Houghton and Higgins Lakes or the Muskegon River for boating, kayaking, and tubing. Located just 7 miles from town, this allows for a quick trip to get supplies or enjoy local establishments. Northern Michigan is a beautiful place to camp in the summer, but remember to bring your mosquito repellent!

Thank You Adam and Sarah for offering your beautiful property here on Hipamp. The view is amazing, the site is very well cared for, and the portable toilet was the cleanest I have ever seen. The privacy and seclusion is exactly what we needed to relax before coming into our busy season. Thank You both again for being wonderful hosts!!! Would highly recommend!!!

Perfect Weekend Camping Spot

Amazing and secluded - perfect spot for my family (wife + 2 dogs). Setup and communication very professional. Def get the eggs - made the most delicious breakfast on Sunday morning. Bathroom is exceptionally clean and firepit and firewood were all perfect for the stay. We’ll be back! Thank you!

The pictures dont do it justice this is a gem of a spot, best solar location yet. I was hesitant to write this review as I don’t want to find it booked the next time we want to head out camping. Extremely quiet and pet friendly.
