Pine Oaks Lodge is a cute vintage cabin on the edge of the Atlanta State Forest, right near the trailhead connecting you to endless miles of riding, hiking, biking, and exploring. The lodge feels secluded, but is only 3 miles from the village of Hillman, Michigan and 23 miles from the city of Alpena (Thunder Bay and Lake Huron) There is plenty to explore in the immediate area, and endless opportunities for day trips from this comfy homebase.
The cabin was built in 1959 and retains much of its original charm. Pine Oaks is great for a quiet, unplugged retreat, or a home base for hunters, fisherman, mushroom hunters, birdwatchers, etc. Our adorable bunkhouse out back serves as a third bedroom for guest, a favorite get-away for older kids on the family trip. This is dark sky country, so build a fire in the fire pit and wait for the Milky Way to appear.This vintate cabin and bunkhouse are across the street from the Atlanta State Forest with endless trails that begin at the end of our lane.
