Sunset Hill Orchard was operated as a family owned fully operating Apple Orchard from the 1940s until 2000. The Orchard still has hundreds of apple trees and in the transition to the next generation, hosted events for many years. We have a beautifully manicured clearing with a fire pit and the second largest ash Tree in the state of NH & The New Hampshire Big Tree County Champion for Hillsboro County. We decided to shift our offering to a more community-oriented and more environment-friendly area. Sunset Hill sits atop a hill that has views of local hiking areas like the Uncanookic Mountains and on a clear winter day Pats Peak. We have four camp quadrants. Within the quadrants, you are free to choose your spot and orientation. These quadrants all surround the cleared community space which includes the fire pit. For Amenities, we offer a shared 2016 Forrest River that serves as a shared restroom, kitchen, and sink. We request all tents set up to find ideal spots in the quadrants marked and not in the manicured grass around the ash tree to maintain the area. Just like wilderness adventures, there could be poison ivy, sumac, and other uncomfortable part of nature, please always use caution.

Sunset Hill - Hanks Spot

Eulalie and her husband were so helpful and welcoming and made sure I found the spot when I arrived. The orchard is so beautiful and peaceful. The whole place is very grassy, not a root or rock in sight; ideal camping conditions! I woke up to all the birds singing and had a great stay here. Would totally recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable place to camp!
