~THE OLD WEST, A NEW VISION~
This ranch- our family’s dream in the becoming; our lifeblood is our commitment to a legacy of land stewardship for over 100 hundred years.
In a world that is day by day more virtual, this is the real deal. It is our desire to carefully share some of its wonder, its magic and the healing that no modern medicine can offer.
Historic, clean, comfortable carefully renovated accommodations. Peace and serenity at our medicine wheel, recenter/rejuvenate.
Guided tours to incredible canyon views, hiking trails, wildlife and ranch animals. (Detailed in EXTRAS upon booking.)
(Previously listed- Largo Rim Ranch until we noticed the outline of the canyon rim was in the shape a hawk with outstretched wings. )
Other EXTRAS- A sweat equity offer as a Stewardship Partner to participate in helping to address certain erosion issues occurring within the Hawk.
We ourselves have found that in this work, we have gained a measure of our own healing.
Come and join us, prepared with work gloves, sturdy boots, plenty of water and a will to make a difference one rock at a time!
How this works:
Book 1 night thru Hipcamp as a guest(s), then include each Stewardship Partner in the EXTRAS offer for 2 more nights without charge.AKA as Largo Rim Ranch, but we noticed on our map of the canyon the outline of a Hawk, so we amended. As for the cabin- while deciding on a name, a patch of native flowers came up in the front yard in the shape of heart, which confirmed our desire for its purpose. This Homestead was built late 1800's from nearly all natural, nearby materials and lovingly renovated with the same. It is sweet, solid and enduring like a good relationship. No running water but a well close by, outhouse, and solar lighting, wood and gas stove and a fire pit, wood provided. Bring your own linens or sleeping bags
It is private, yet accessible for low carriage vehicles. There are great views all around, with 200+ acres you can explore at your leisure (map provided). This is both wooded and open terrain with lovely, shaded picnic spots, amazing rock formations, ponds with water fowl and open grass lands where livestock and Elk graze. Guided tours of the rest of the ranch are offered in EXTRAS. This is the Canyon country with incredible panoramic views overlooking the SABINOSO WILDERNESS, fresh water springs, Ancient's caves, petroglyphs and artifacts, Deer, Bear, Mountain Lion, of course the Hawk and many more wild animals (check out The Birds Eye View for canyon Picts and reviews). This is a visit to a bygone Era, with limited amenities but unlimited peace for mind, body, spirit and soul.
