Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
Come experience private mountain meadows, on 70 acres, at the crest of the South Mountains. Camp at one of three sites, or hop around during your stay on the meadows below Bolin Knob. This entire listing is one booking, you’ll have the mountain to yourself. Views to the west of Mount Mitchell and the Blue Ridge Mountians; views to the north of Table Rock and Grandfather Mountain and to the east direct views of Silver Creek Knob. Stargaze the Milky Way at night with very little light pollution, relax by the fire, or explore the property and Bolin Knob. Hike adjacent to the property on 1,000s of acres of public land on South Mtn Game Lands. Nearby recreation: South Mtn State Park and Lake James State Park; fish/float the Catawba River in Morganton or Marion; bike the Fonta Flora trail at Lake James. This is one Booking with three potential Campsites, pick one when you arrive: A. Spring Flat: the lowest elevation and easiest to access, has clear views to the east of the South Mtns.  Listen to adjacent spring bubbling out of the mountain and wake up with a sunrise over Silver Creek Knob. This site is easy to access and best for low clearance vehicles. B. Old Homeplace: tucked into the mountain, this large, flat site has a firepit and several trees for hammocks. Clear views to the north and east.  This is the best site for ground tents. C. Windy Ridge: the highest elevation site with sunrise and sunset views.  The wind blows up here a lot!  See the sun fall across the Catawba River valley and watch the shooting stars at night.  AWD/4WD or hike to access this site. *We highly recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles, when you leave the state maintained road you'll be climbing 400 ft to the meadows. In order to access the highest elevation site 4WD is needed most of the year. The majority of the road is packed gravel but some of the campsites are accessed through bumpy fields. You're welcome to park on the gravel and hike a short distance to the campsites.

My happy place
I almost hate recommending this place because I want to keep it all for myself 😂 Seriously though, this is one of my absolute favorite places on the planet. When I come here I feel closer to God and held by the Earth. We bring our dogs and they have a blast running around. Plenty of shade up top and usually a good breeze too. You won’t regret it.

10 out of 10 recommend. This place was exactly what we needed and was looking for. Private, views, etc. 360 views on site C. Don't think about...just make the reservation. You won't be disappointed

Blue Ridge Stargazing
This is a fantastic piece of property, and campsite C is the winner of the 4 options. A few of the vehicles headed up there ended up on the other side of the mountain even with the same GPS coordinates, but that's a tech issue, and easy enough for them to figure out how to get to the correct side. Beautiful views! We'll be back when the weather is a little cooler so we're not chasing the tree shade during the days, but overall, an excellent trip and we're looking forward to doing it again!

Eno Camping!
This place is great! Me and one other person used 4wd to be able to camp at site C, it’s beautiful and worth the view! We slept in enos on the hammock posts. The campsite was clean (surprising since this campsite is always booked) and the directions were very clear. William is nice to communicate with. Love that campers get a choice of where to camp instead of booking each individual campsite! The land has a great view of the mountains without needing to drive to be super close to them.

Oh. My. Gosh. I am just so grateful that William shared this little piece of paradise with us. The view was amazing and we loved having the whole place to ourselves, for the quiet and giving the dogs freedom. Everything was very well maintained and explained. I am already trying to plan dates to go back.
