We absolutely loved this spot! It was beautiful, spacious, clean and far from others. We could see 2 other sites, but they were far enough away we never heard them. The host was great. He took us to our site and brought a lot of firewood for a good price. He checked on us periodically, but wasn’t overbearing. The Riverside VIP site had a picnic table, small prep table, grill and large fire pit. It was partially shaded all day. The river was sunny, so it was nice to have shade on the grassy tent area. The river was shallow, the deepest part was up to our waists. We spent a ton of time wandering in the water and fishing. Several tubers and kayakers floated by, it was fun to watch them. Only 2 cons, not game changers! 1. River access was steep/slippery. This is me being picky, we got to the water numerous times without incident. Would love a couple natural steps of stone or wood at the bottom. 2. We were a little confused with directions. The exact location isn’t given until you book, so I’ll try to not give too much away. Towards the end it said go straight up the road to a house with a big friendly white dog…this is true. But I would add you take the right at the fork in the road in order to find said house and dog. I almost hate to leave a good review because I don’t want it to become so popular that it’s hard to book, but he really deserves all the best reviews and more bookings! This has been our favorite Hipcamp find in a long time!

This campground is an amazing spot! We had several dogs that had room to roam off leash and swim! The tent sites are private and spaced so far apart we couldn’t see other campers. The river is beautiful! We caught a couple trout and floated downstream on tubes. The property is giant so we enjoyed a couple of hikes. We will definitely be staying here again!

The bar has been set…
Part of me wants to not review. I like it that much. I don’t want to drive the masses to spoil it. This was easily the best family campsite we have ever been to. Large space, a great river to fish, splash, view wildlife. Fantastic property with fantastic host. The lightning bugs numbered the stars. The owls, beavers, deer, crawfish, copperhead, geese and rabbits all made an appearance. The balance of nature was so perfect here. Bumble bees, bullfrogs dragon and damsel flies. We have only been gone one day and the kids are already making plans to return. Go to the top of the hill for sunset. You won’t be sorry.
