Country Goodness!
What a wonderful experience! This was our first time at a Hip Camp, and it couldnât have gone better.
We were invited to park behind the barn where we found a little paradise for our five-night stay. Our hosts provided a closed fire pit, wood, and a couple of Adirondack chairs to lounge in. The animals, including the gentle German Shephard, the sweet little cat, and the amusing chickens all made an appearance in our space at one point or another. At night, the road quieted down and the stars came out, providing us some serene down-time from the dayâs adventures.
The road down to the barn does have an uneven driveway, which may be a problem for low campers or small cars, but two easily accessible pads are available in the front yard. Be prepared to be self-contained, as (as stated in the ad), there is no electricity or running water, but there is wi-fi! There is a lovely mowed-grass walking path which winds around the 10 acres of field and forest. The city is a short 10-minute drive away; add a few minutes to get to the Base or downtown.
All in all, we had a top-notch stay with our new friends, and will certainly return when next in the Kingston area!

Unkomplizierte Abwicklung und idyllisches Plätzchen frisch gemäht hinter der Scheune. Nachts ist die Strasse ziemlich ruhig.

Kelly had a nice spot, it was easy to access and close to Kingston without being in Kingston. Communication was easy and I had no problems. I would return.

Great stay for a good price. No traditional camping amenities available, but works great in a pinch if you donât want to risk a ticket or break-in for overnight stays in your car. Oh, and the chickens, rooster and Sasha (dog) were all incredibly sweet and friendly.

Stayed one night on my way to Quebec - first night ever in Canada! I liked that it was close enough to 401 and Kingston to be convenient, but far enough to feel restful. The location behind the barn is private and level, host friendly while respecting privacy.
