Discover Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park's natural beauty and outdoor fun.
Get ready for some serious animal action at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park. You can bring your own horse for the 8-mile Chickasaw bluff trail, or scout for beaver, deer, turkey, foxes and bobcats roam the 13.5k acre hardwood bottomland. If you haven’t been to this neck of the mighty Mississip, you’ll be blown away by the Cypress trees that emerge from the flooded lowlands. You can row or motor all kind of watercraft between trunks and underneath shadow of the forest. For the little ones (or all the kids-at-heart), the park hosts activities and exhibits - live snakes, turtles, fish aquariums, and an indoor butterfly garden. We saved the best for last - the 36-hole DISC GOLF COURSE. Game on.
The ideal time to visit Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural world is in full bloom or beautifully transforming. Summer brings warmth perfect for water activities, though it can be quite humid. Winters are generally mild, but some facilities may have reduced hours or be closed, so always check ahead.
