Quaint family-friendly RV slot minutes away from modern conveniences such as shopping, restaurants, and restrooms. Some activities to consider when camping include kayaking if you have one, and swimming; when the creek is full. Wineries, distilleries, breweries, and world-famous BBQ at the Salt Lick are also within 2 miles of the campsite.
Water and electrical hook-ups are available at each slot. Fires are allowed however, please check with hays county before starting one. The gate will be unlocked the day of the reservation by noon. Please be considerate when camping and do not play music loudly or disrespect others. Please feel free to reach out to me for any additional questions.
The park may be only 16 miles away, but it feels like a world away. The main draws are the two waterfalls, both the result of Onion Creek flowing over limestone ledges. Cool off with a swim in the swimming holes below or fish from the shores. In between the falls, large boulders are perfect for bouldering. Elsewhere at McKinney, nearly nine miles of hiking trails and biking trails wind their way through Hill Country woods, past an ancient rock shelter and Old Baldy, one of the oldest cypress trees in Texas.
