Dee Dee's B&B

I obviously take advantage of living in the country and enjoying the peace and quiet of everyday living that it provides! So many people enjoy coming out here and just unplugging and unwinding. I know my property won't disappoint if you decide to stay in the fully equipped cabin or if you just pitch a tent under the whispering pines. The ponds are fully stocked with bass, bream and catfish, so fun to catch and you can even keep your catch and cook them over your own campfire. The canopy of stars and chirping frogs will lull you to sleep in the privacy of this secluded campsite.

The best camping near Sabine National Forest guide

Overview

About

Ready to explore nature along the Texas/Louisiana border? This huge national forest is the easternmost in Texas and borders the Toledo Bend Reservoir. Hiking, fishing, hunting, and boating are popular activities in the area's 160,656 acres.

The Forest Service's work makes it easy for boaters to access the lake. There are multiple boat ramps scattered throughout the extensive shoreline. Bass fishing is a particularly big draw on Toledo Bend Reservoir.

If you fancy yourself a pro, you can even try your luck in an established tournament! For a different kind of game, head to Moore Plantation. This enormous 26,500-acre wildlife management area is popular among deer hunters.

If you're looking for a quiet camping spot, consider heading to Red Hills Lake. It's much smaller than the main reservoir, making it a bit more intimate. No motorized boats are allowed. Spread out for a picnic and take a dip in the lake right afterward!
