Yuba - El Conejo Lakeside

2 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Scipio, UT
Park your van, trailer or RV a skip away from Yuba Lake on private 3 acre land. Unimproved parking space surrounded by beautiful views. Plenty of space to set up tents, pets welcome. Just minutes away from the marina and Yuba Lake State Park amenities including zip line, potable water and dump with state park entrance fee. Enjoy the lake during the day and the stars at night. Property has two sites. Both have optional electrical hookup, boat slip , and firewood. Site 1 - “El Conejo Camp Spot” away from the main road featuring 4x20 step off deck, picnic table, and camp chairs, as well (2) 30amp RV hookups. This is a pull thru or pull around site. Site 2 - “Roadside Summit” with picnic table, fire ring, and 50amp electrical hookup. This is a pull through site with grade. Lake can be accessed with state park fee at the marina entrance and the north shore, or on the south side via five minute ride or 1.25 mi walk. (See Add-Ons if you need a boat slip for the day or overnight). Road in is dirt with minor grade up to property. Notes: ——— * Wildlife - In late summer, cattle graze nearby. In spring, you may see sheep and baby lambs on the way to the south beach access. There are rattle snakes, bunnies, and we’ve seen a scorpion or two. *Weather - Summer days can be quite hot with cooler nights. There is no shade on the property. Wind gusts carrying dust can occur. It’s a good idea to check weather app for conditions. *Landscape/Views - Utah natural landscape changes markedly with the seasons. Some photos may reflect green grasses, when these dry out mid summer, they can produce fine stickers to be aware of with long hair pets, kids, and ankles in general. Views can change depending on developing neighboring properties. Sunsets either at the lake or the property are unobstructed and often dramatic. Night sky viewing is also pretty awesome as there is very little light pollution.

A Traveler's Homestead Retreat

1 site · RV2 acres · Fayette, UT
Our family property is full of history and has been passed down our family line for generations. We are building upon its foundation to grow a thriving homestead for our family and a retreat for our guests. Our garden is fed by the town's Spring and we have little rivers running through the property once a week which is quite a sight! Our little farm is full of goats, pigs, sheep, ducks, dogs, cats, and chickens! We are happy to show the animals to guests interested in seeing them. You have to see our view of the stars at night! We love to share this homesteading lifestyle with others and love the traveling lifestyle as well after traveling for three years in our RV as a family. We have four children and provide a family-friendly and safe environment for our guests. Our property offers 30 amp electrical hookups. Since we have tons of animals we can not host any dogs at this time. Quiet times are from 10pm-7am

The best camping near Yuba State Park guide

Overview

About

Legend has it that disgruntled local farmers sang a song with the lyrics, “You be damned if you work, and damned if you don’t,” while building the Yuba Reservoir—hence its original name, the “U.B. Dam.” Today, the 22-mile-long lake sits at the heart of Yuba State Park, where getting on the water is the top activity. Bring your boat, water skis, or windsurf, cool off with a swim at the sandy beaches, or try your luck fishing for northern pike and walleye. Away from the water, you can also go ziplining or explore the surrounding hiking and OTV trails.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for year-round camping: Oasis Campground has RV sites with and without electric hookups, plus heated family cabins with cooking facilities.
  • Best for boaters: Painted Rocks Campground has RV sites with electric hookups and its own boat launch on the east bank of the Yuba Reservoir.
  • Best for beach views: North Beaches Campground has primitive campsites with vault toilets and shared firepits, right by the sand.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. You can reserve campsites and cabins at all Yuka State Park campgrounds during peak season—March 15 through Sept 16. For the rest of the year, only Oasis Campground remains open, with sites only available on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis.
  2. All campsites can be reserved four months in advance, and you can book online via the Reserve America website.
  3. Campsites can book up as fast, especially for holiday weekends, so book as soon as possible. Note that you can book a maximum of 13 days beyond the last date of the 4-month reservation window.

When to go

Hemmed in between mountain and desert, Yuba State Park enjoys a temperate climate with warm summers (June through September) ideal for swimming and water sports, and icy winters when the lake freezes over (November through March). The park stays open year-round, although all but one of its campgrounds close in low season. Check the water levels before arrival if you plan to boat or enjoy water sports in summer.

Know before you go

  • Yuba State Park sits 110 miles south of Salt Lake City, about a 1-hour and 40-minute drive away along I-15. The main park entrance is at the Oasis campground and day-use area—take exit 202 and follow the signs. Alternatively, the Painted Rocks are reached via Utah Hwy 28.
  • A per-vehicle day pass is required for all Utah State Parks, and booking fees also apply.
  • Yuba State Park facilities include restrooms, picnic areas, and a camp store selling ice and firewood. Several boat launches and seasonal paddle board rentals are available.
  • Toxic algae has been found blooming at the lake in recent years, so follow park guidelines regarding swimming and water sports.
  • Pets are permitted at Yuba State Park, but must be kept on a maximum 6-foot leash at all times.
  • There are accessible restrooms, picnic areas, and campsites at Yuba State Park.
