Unsafe hipcamp conditions
This hipcamp was in dangerous condition to the extent we needed a machete to clear space. Campfire was under plants and site looked as if it had not been maintained in a years time. Host was not in the country to respond in a timely manner to questions like where is there potable water. When we did get a hold of the host we were directed to the wrong site and needed to relocate mid stay when it turned out we were in another persons spot. First spot was bad because of an unsafe overgrowth of poison ivy, second site was way worse. The area of our site had plant growth up to our hip and it felt very unsafe due to the amount of poison ivy mixed in. There was no space to drive without high grass. Spoke to other hip campers and they were appalled by the conditions but our site was by far the least acceptable. Between my boyfriend and I we love using hipcamp but this situation was terrible. Obviously it’s not possible for hipcamp to inspect all sites but I think a serious discussion with the host is warranted in this situation. Would recommend to look elsewhere

Overgrown campsite
When we got there the whole field was overgrown with grass and our campsite was not maintained at all. There were a lot of small weeds and leaves all around the site we had to trim down so our ankles wouldn’t be grazing it. Once we made the campsite look nice it wasn’t bad,but we didn’t see the river from the site. It was also confusing what site was ours since there’s no markers/signs. The pictures can be deceiving. Overall if it looked like the pictures, then would be very nice!

Lovely little site down by the river. Cooked my dinner in the cast iron wood stove. Water was too cold for me to swim but I did see a bald eagle flying up the river as I drank my morning coffee.

This is a fantastic stay.
Nice place to set up! The host is fantastic. Accessibility is the easiest! Also you have to do the glass blowing class!

Our stay at DuGrenier Glass was an absolute haven of tranquility. Situated with a stream on one side and the captivating glassblowing studio on the other, it offered the perfect blend of nature and artistry. Despite its proximity to the road, the campsite was surprisingly private, providing ample space for tents of all sizes. The vintage fireplace, repurposed as a fire pit, added a charming touch to our evenings.
With the stream nearby, we could easily cool off on hot days, while the expansive field allowed kids and pets to frolic freely. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the glassblowing studio. Visiting it and observing the glassblowing process was a captivating experience, and the gallery was a treasure trove of beautiful creations, art, and unique gifts.
DuGrenier Glass is not just a campsite; it's an immersive artistic experience set in a serene natural backdrop.
