Wouldn't Stay Again
The dispersed tent camping is on the side of the hill, we slipped downhill while sleeping. We smelled the porta potty all night. Neighboring dogs barked on/off throughout the night. A tin shed was below a walnut tree, when walnuts fall it made a loud gunshot-like noise that woke us up.
There are friendly outside cats but it would have been nice to know about them beforehand. They jumped on us constantly, tried to eat our food, went through our garbage, walked on the table, and scratched my hand. We decided to cook somewhere else BC of the cats.
We booked stay two night. We told the host of the poor sleep from the smell & hill. We asked to move spots to the top of the hill for the second night & would pay the difference. She said we had to cancel the current reservation & book the different site on hipcamp. My phone didn't have service but my friend's phone had service. I had the hipcamp account but I couldn't remember my password (BC it logs in automatically on my phone) so we couldn't log in. She said we could venmo her. My friend didn't have venmo, I did. My venmo needed ID verification via text/email since it was a foreign phone but I couldn't verify it BC I didn't have signal/internet. We left camp to find wifi but couldn't. She said we could use cash but would have to park away from our tent. We ended up not staying the 2nd night though we paid for it BC we needed our car close to our tent and didn't want to sleep on the hill and those were the two options we had.

Amazing Host - Annoying Cats
Afton was a terrific host, she greeted us upon welcome and gave us a lay of the land. My boyfriend and I went for a nice quiet getaway and booked the nature bath. 10/10 recommend the nature bath.

My boyfriend and I were extremely dissatisfied with the orange cat on property. We werent able to enjoy cooking or eating any of our meals without the cat jumping on our laps, tables, chairs and grabbing food. The first night the cat followed us around the whole property. While we were trying to sleep the neighbors dogs were barking loud. When we finally were able to get comfortable the cat started clawing at our tent while sleeping. I got up to go to the bathroom middle of the night, the cat would not leave me alone (at this point I’m extremely annoyed). My boyfriend tried to shoo it away and it sprinted at him, clawed up his body onto his chest and ran off. My boyfriend has a scratch mark and blood on his chest from this. At this point we were completely fed up with the seemingly sweet cat.
The next day the cat again would not leave us alone. During breakfast we weren’t even able to have our mugs out on the table with tea because the cat would smell it, jump up and try to drink it. We ended up leaving the campsite the next 8 hours and wished I could’ve gotten a refund.
I’m really disappointed in this campsite. Afton was great but the cats and neighbors dogs were absolutely the opposite of a peaceful camping experience.

Afton went above & beyond! We will absolutely be back again, she was very nice and welcoming! She even had a fire all set up for us when we arrived! The kitties were definitely the highlight in my eyes. I absolutely adored griz and he stayed around us pretty much the whole time.

Worth Healing Yourself
The tent camping experience was amazing! What a charged land full of beautiful crystals to keep you grounded and feeding your inner child s excitement of discovering crystals on the land making great memories with my beautiful family all while stargazing late into the night.
Afton was a great host and even had a fire going for us upon arrival (late check-in) which was a pleasant surprise since it was dark and we still had to pitch the tent and unpack.
We ended up extending our stay another night to enjoy more crystal hunting and nature.
Afton had a very thoughtful “outdoor nature bath” experience that was stellar!! Me and my wife loved it and she took the time to try to entertain our two younger boys with a projector movie that we had no idea about, again, her hosting was well over the top!
If you are looking for nice escape from the noise and light pollution of city living or just want to go camping within the state, you can feel the love and energy she is pouring into the land, we plan to give back in some form or another because we really enjoyed her energy and her vision and the crystals the land allowed us to find.
