Horror film
This was a very creepy place to stay. We had difficulty finding the place. On the road there was a burnt car right in front. The drive to enter was very rough, not suitable for a camper van. The grass was as tall as an adult human. There were no spots as described (very unkept). We locked the gate behind us on entering, but because it felt so much like the feel of a horror film, we had to leave, because we knew we wouldn’t sleep. We stayed in the Home Depot parking lot instead. We requested a refund because it wasn’t as described, but it was refused. This is the first time we ever left a Hipcamp. Honestly, not fair.

This place is not really suitable for camping. There is nothing there outside of a portacabin toilet and the place is totally infested with mosquitoes. We had closed all doors and windows of our campervan and still were stung a hundred times.

Bad camp spot
Very tall unkept grass. Tons of mosquitos. Very rough driveway on the way in, scrapes bottom of vehicle going over big tree roots.
Not worth the $45/night after taxes/fees. Look anywhere else on the island.

Roughing it ... Loving it!
Camp is as described ... we (Dad with children) loved it! It *is* roughing it; the other reviews describing the place are accurate.
Pro: clean toilet, refreshing/ working shower/ hose propped up, isolated/ nature-centric.
Con: we've stayed the past two years, both wonderful, but yes, the grass is quite overgrown this year so the individual camping sites marked with logs are quite difficult to differentiate. While there's certainly space for 7 campsites, with the overgrown grass it would be difficult to find individual spots. A good mow would help. :)
William was wonderfully communicative and helpful when plans changed. A+ rating.
