Once you make it to Polihale State Park, you may never want to leave.
For one because the road to get here kinda sucks (bring a 4wd vehicle and never go when it’s rainy!), but also because once you pitch your tent on the undeveloped beach and kick back with views of the Napali Coastline, you will know that you have found a piece of heaven on earth. Take in some mind blowing sunsets, try your hand at shore fishing, and just relax, because you are livin the dream.
Heaven looks a little bit like this. It is pretty remote, so make sure you have plenty of water and food. Shade is minimal as well, so bring an umbrella if you plan on parking yourself at the beach.
Don't forget to take care of the land by picking up after yourself!

Polihale: a piece of paradise! Normally there is running water & bathrooms; however, when I went from 5/15-20/2017 it was the first time in 30 years there was no fresh water. No sweat (literally), that's what wet wipes, a pot / stove / washcloth / soap is for is you really need a shower. Sans fresh water was no problem for me! We base camped at Polihale and made the beautiful trek up to Kokee state park to hike during the day. As for the campsites, there are 4 camping areas and each area has several sites (you can always set up on the beach). Rent a 4x4, make your reservation, and head out I Polihale - an experience that must be had!
