The Silver Valley is rich with mining history and Burke canyon was the heart of it. You drive past ghost towns and abandoned mine/mill sites to get to the top of the canyon and our little piece of North Idaho. Past our place is the gateway to high mountain lakes and trail systems for days. Close to Wallace and the Center of the Universe.

Tweeker Camping
This was not what was expected. It looked more like a tweeker’s camping area. It is located just off the road so if you were to leave your tent equipment set up for the day, it would be an advertisement for someone to steal. The pictures advertised do not represent the actual camping area. Beware

Tad's land was awesome to camp on. The nearby creek was beautiful and we loved listening to it during our stay. We went swimming at a nearby lake (Lower Glidden Lake). Such an epic lake, it is a must see!

Burke Outpost
Our visit to Burke Outpost was a pleasant sojourn by the stream. During our short stay at Burke Outpost, My husband and I set up our tent by the edge of the stream. The camping plot was rustically equipped with a fire ring, and access to potable water. There are multiple options for pitching a hammock and a tent on this property. Sites by the river offer easy, drive-up convenience. Higher up the mountain, seclusion is offered if you don’t mind a short hike. Burke Outpost has a mine-shaft that is currently being renovated. If the prospect of finding gold or other minerals during your stay excites you, this Hipcamp may be of great interest. There are also good opportunities for seeing wildlife here. As a quiet, secluded Hipcamp with abundant access to nearby natural recreation, this property is great. Thank you for sharing your Hipcamp with us. It was a pleasure!

This place was great! We could easily spread out with both sites! The water is a way away from the electric and not easily accessible to the trailers! Bring a long hose! But other than that the stay was perfect!
