Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. Relax and bask in the sun on our floating sun deck, or unwind in the shade with a nap in one of our hammocks. As night falls, gather around our fire pit to share stories without the distractions of nearby campers. Our campground offers camper hook-ups for water and electricity, although sewer facilities are not available. Guests must either have a camper with a restroom or bring their own camp toilets. Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime. Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point. Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited. The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Rock The South Music Festival. My campground is 1 acre of lakefront property on Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. with a private sun deck (floating pier) and boat ramp. The property is accessed from AL. County Road 222 and is easy to find. Public water and power hookups are available onsite. The property is within .3 mile to a locally owned grill/general store/gas station which makes a pretty good burger, and a locally owned barbeque restaurant, and a Dollar General. The City of Cullman is approximately 11 miles away with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Popular attractions in the Cullman area are The Ave Maria Grotto (12 miles), Heritage Park (9 miles), Goat Island Brewing (10 miles), Ethos Craft Brewing/Bloom Winery and Pizza, 5 miles, and the Festhalle Farmers Market (10 miles). Cullman County has some notable attractions including Clarkson Covered Bridge (11 miles) and The Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament (19 miles).

Since the weather was cold and dreary we didn't use most of the amenities. We enjoyed having the site all to ourselves and even though it was next to the road the traffic was minimal during the night. The directions to the site were easy to follow and Rachael responded to our questions clearly and quickly. We would love to come here again.

A place of one’s own
18 ft travel trailer
Rachael and Kent were great hosts. I found them helpful and they made my stay easy. I renewed my stay THREE times! And I’ll be back again. The site is super private, only you at the site. It is close to the road but that was no bother. They offered all the amenities, a fire pit and firewood, adurondaks, grill, hammocks, tables and chairs, the works. They also have electric and water hookup for RVs. And there’s a great outdoor shower with hot water. Camp 222 was a perfect stopping point that gave me access to both Birmingham and Huntsville, but I also enjoyed downtown Cullman where I had all the amenities I could desire less than 20 minutes from the campground. From restaurants, coffee shops, Publix, Dicks, PetSmart, and more. Definitely recommend!!

Cold night, warm fire.
17 ft campervan · With pets
It was beautiful and the space was very thoughtful. Picnic tables, hammocks, chairs around a fire pit, a grill, it even had power! It was a chilly night, the fire pit was perfect to keep us warm and plenty of sticks around to help start it off. We can't wait to come stay in the summer-time when the trees are full and the water's high.
