Dark Hollow
Very satisfied
Honestly, it was a great experience! The one downfall on the site was that I did not have cell service to communicate with the host. We planned a very last minute night. Fortunately, the other campers were able to give us a quick run down and we found a site (not sure if the site, eek sorry). They also helped us locate the fire wood on the premisis and porta john not far from entrance. We woke up and explored only a few yards from our site and found a different site with a lovely mountain view. The sites we saw had picnic tables and fire rings with enough room for a tent and the site we had we drove into and stayed right in our truck. Highly recommend this site! We will return to explore the land more. Thank you Danny. Hope to meet you next time we will arrive earlier! Everything you need is just at the entryway.

I was using a truck bed tent and chose the Bobcat site because of its seclusion, view of the valley, and proximity to the poo with a view. It was perfect. Nice and level and only required a little sketchy downhill backing around a curved drive. Very worth it.
We were greeted almost immediately by the host who gave us the lay of the land. The sites are all very shaded, which helped because it was almost 100 degrees. The trail to the creek is fun but super rugged to untrained hikers. Hearing the tigers growl at dinner and breakfast was an added bonus.

There were several options to choose from upon arrival, all which were fairly roomy for the most part. We had a larger group, so we chose the site up at the top of the hill. There was a little outhouse nearby and an outdoor shower, which we did not use.
As others have said, the highway comes closest to that particular site. The cars aren’t an issue, but there were quite a few dump trucks that came through in the middle of the night. Again, we knew this ahead of time and chose it anyway.
If you’re hammock camping with 2+ hammocks, the site at the top will be the best bet unless you want to get into the woods that adjoin the sites.
There is a cool trail that leads down to where a little creek empties out down at the bottom. That was pretty cool. I had my son in a backpack carrier he was in. Luckily, I brought some trekking poles, as the hike was steep. It’s doable without them but wouldn’t advise it if you’ve got a kid on your back.
Danny was nice and friendly. Overall, it was a fun experience.

Dark Hollow
Highly recommended spot
There is a little traffic noise in the day, but dies down at night. Hearing the lions roar is an awesome experience from down in the valley. Breathtaking views.

Campsite was pretty close to the road, but it wasn't super loud. The hike down the water is kind of steep but fun and the creek is beautiful.

Definite return!
We arrived and were given the tour of the campsites and what to do after setting up. The sites were private and amenities operational and clean. Also, att was at 5g. While leaving the house this morning, I was hit with a few hornets that made a nest under the stairs. Needless to say, eventually the swelling made me miserable and had to leave early. We will be back in the Fall to check out the rest. 5 star host, no doubt.
