ML Arena is located in the Foothills of Southern Alberta in the community of Spring Point (the HipCamp listing shows “Claresholm” but we are located in the MD of Pincher Creek) 10 miles west of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of “Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump “. We have 3 campsites with water and power, 1 full service treed campsite for smaller rigs and an orchard for tenting. Overflow parking for big rigs is available with power.
There is an indoor riding arena on site and access to the Porcupine Hills Recreation Area public lands just 15 minutes down the road! Beautiful open views give the feel of being secluded but proximity to both Fort Macleod and Pincher Creek is just 25 minutes away.
Outdoor corrals and pens with auto waterers are available for horses.
This was a perfect stop on our way through the area with our motor home. Cathy and Todd were great hosts, and so friendly! They invited us in, and gave us some great tips and info on the area. We also learned about their horses and Cathy’s training business. It was so fun and interesting since we know nothing about it. I would highly recommend this stop to anyone looking for accommodations in the area.
Wow!!
Fantastic! Highly recommend. Gorgeous area, Cathy and her husband are wonderful people; inspiring!
I encourage everyone to try to take a hire back riding lesson with Cathy as she is an exceptionally talented teacher and it is such a great experience.
Will be a regular stop for our family in the future.
I loved every minute of my stay in the orchard! Cathy's place is such a beautiful oasis surrounded by peaceful hills. The orchard has beautiful trees and is sheltered by hedges. There are benches and tables to use and lots of space. I got a warm welcome on arrival and a tour so I know where everything is. She has two adorable dogs. I loved having the chance to get to know Cathy and her husband a little - great people! And best of all, I got some special time with Cathy's horses! The place is remote enough that you can truly relax and recharge, yet easy to get to. If you want to explore, there is Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump not too far, and hiking in the surrounding hills. I definitely recommend staying at Cathy's, and hope to be back sometime myself!
The site was very nice. A lovely little orchard. Very good protection from the wind. The hosts were friendly. Their dogs were also friendly. The pear is cool. The pears were not ripe yet, but the apples were tasty.
