Near Petrified Forest National Park
Within a 60-minute drive from the Rainbow Forest Museum.
Explore the Painted Desert wonderland to play around in and stargaze. The campsite is shared with Wild Horses, Pronghorns, Owls and Bovine that wander around the area. Look out to the south and a view of Petrified Forest National Park is right there. And when you're in the park, using binoculars, you can see the campsite from Pintado Point. Just search left from the towers. A fantastic campsite built by independent outdoor company @hetchyoutdoors This is a remote, private campground with a canopy, picnic bench and fire pit that relieves you from the crowds of hotels and RV campgrounds in the area. There are no predators or threats to worry about at night, just the the most stars in the sky you've probably ever seen. Exactly as described, There was firewood and water in a shower bag at the site. Picnic table and horseshoes were nice additions. Excellent communication and directions to site. Also, one of the most beautiful starry night skies I’ve seen. Would recommend!

Our camping experience here was amazing! The directions were very specific and easy to follow. Our host was available to reach by text for any questions we had. The campsite was exactly what we expected. Remote, quiet, beautiful stars, and the fire pit area with the horseshoes was a great touch. Thank you Ken for the wonderful stay!

Great experience!!
It was a great experience in the desert, even though we arrived about 7:30-8:00 pm. The directions were on point, very easy to find, as long as you have good sense of direction. If you're looking to stay near the petrified forest, we highly recommend this place. Did not get to meet the owner because of arriving too late, not too much light but not pitch black either, but you have a train that you can hear from a distance. Overall great experience!!

Perfect for our family
Beautiful and secluded with great stargazing. Ken was great with directions and we had a great stay with our kids in small tents.
