Welcome to Ouachita River Haven!
Nestled between Ouachita National Forest property and the Ouachita River, our Haven is a peaceful little slice of nature for you to take a break, catch your breath, and enjoy the outdoors! Property has 1000 ft of river access, with canoe & kayak docks, swimming hole, volleyball and tetherball, horseshoes, swings.
We offer hiking, mountain biking, and river shuttles as well as canoe/kayak/tube rentals and shuttles. Such trips should be reserved in advance by messaging us or visiting our website.
Our office sells firewood for $5/bundle. We also have a small array of custom woodwork items from our woodshop, freeze dried snacks and hiking restocks, food from local vendors, and souvenirs!
All primitive sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and campfire grill grate.
Electric sites are 30 amp, if using for tent camping you will need a 3-prong converter (we can rent one to you for $5 if you do not have your own). RV/Camper MAXIMUM length is 28 feet.
Tipi rental is a camping experience only; it does not have electricity, a/c or heat. There are solar lights inside. We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night.
Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. A/C, heat, electricity, TV & DVDs, Microwave, and Mini fridge are inside. Guests use campground restrooms
Campground restrooms and showers are a short walk from campgrounds.
We are pet-friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times that they are not in a tent or camper and friendly with other dogs and people. There is a working dog on the property-he is friendly with all people and dogs.
Nestled along the Ouachita River, this campsite offers a blend of serene river views and well-maintained facilities, creating a peaceful retreat for campers. The hosts are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, ensuring a welcoming environment. While the sound of the river provides a natural soundtrack to your stay, the ground can be tough on tent stakes, so a sleeping mat is recommended. Despite a rare encounter with a lack of security, most guests find the site clean, spacious, and ideal for relaxation.
The area was beautiful, the river was cold, and the experience was very nice. Highly recommend renting the kayak to play around in the water! Very friendly people!
The glamping shack is just perfect for our family. The beds are cozy. The fire pit is great and the walk down to the river is so peaceful. My kiddos had fun on the tire swings and looking at bugs and rocks down by the river.
This spot was PERFECT! Right next to the river, and you get to see the area from a corner view of the property. Bathroom and showers was kept clean and was in walking distance from campsite, or easy access if you want to commute by vehicle. This spot offers you peace and tranquility. I highly recommend to anyone looking to detach from electronics, and get connected to nature.
Campsites are clean, larger than I expected and the people who run the place were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay. Would definitely recommend this place. Also because of the layout and the natural river boundary we didn’t have to worry much about critters in the campsite. Very positive experience.
The ground at the sites can be kind of tough on tent stakes and your back so plan accordingly and bring a mat for your sleeping bags
What a beautiful spot and secluded location! If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind and let all your cares melt away, this is the perfect place to do just that! You'll find the views incredible, the shade welcoming, and the accomodations likeable! We definitely think if you're looking for a great getaway, that you give this spot a chance!
Second time camping at Ouachita River Haven and it was great again! Worth the 5 hr drive from DFW as this place has some pretty mountain views and nice river front access. Owners are awesome and very accommodating. We will definitely be back again.
