What a magical place🙏🏾
I have to start of by saying how lovely, hospitable, and accommodating both Grace and her partner were. They made us feel right at home and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including FRESH BAKED COOKIES!🙌🏾. The property was beautiful and the pieces of art were very impressive. It was definitely a unique experience that we’ll never forget❤️🙏🏾

Set your expectations before going
Personally, I did not enjoy my stay in Large Marge but that probably had to do with my expectations.
If you are truly chill and looking for a funky, shabby, and unique place to stay with remarkably friendly hosts and a 10-out-of-10 sunset, then this is for you. Absolutely unique. I loved the outdoor art installations, watching rabbits and ground squirrels running around, and the creativity that went into decorating Large Marge.
However, if you are hoping for a quiet, restful, and clean place with a lovely view, then this is not for you. My view was of dried grass, porta-potties, old tires, and electric lines. The bed sheets were covered in dog hair and straw. And somebody played music til late at night. This was not my idea of a peaceful place to spend a weekend. But it was memorable!

Large Marge was magical.
This place was truly magical, and I could not recommend the place more. What a cool little getaway, and all the art installation are nice added bonus. Large Marge was cozy and a unique experience. The host Grace was soo sweet, and made us feel so welcomed. If you get the chance, check it out and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Go visit Large Marge!!
Large Marge was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Located about 10 minutes from Main St in Romona, Large Marge is the perfect camping getaway. I was solo camping for the first time and I felt completely safe and comfortable my entire stay. Temps got down to about 37 *F at night and it was cold but with warm PJs (a 2-3 layers) and about 5-6 warm blankets I was quite comfortable. Warming up by the fire pit before crawling into bed was also a great way to keep warm. The view of the stars, the BBQ, the roaming horses and doggos, the mini fridge, viewing deck, stereo, and groovy hosts were all awesome perks as well! I will say at night you may hear some critters but that’s all a part of being outdoors. Overall, the vibes here were immaculate and I would absolutely recommend it to others. I know Julian is about 20 minutes away but some other nearby points of interest are Lake Sutherland, Barona Casino, and Pete’s BBQ ;) I will also take this opportunity to plug Bisher’s Meats which was an awesome place to pick up a steak and stuffed mushrooms for the grill. Also, although this groovy school bus is stationary, you can still go on a trip. ;)
Best of luck travelers and seekers!

Funky and peaceful
Beautiful spot with a view of the west for great sunsets, just outside Ramona! Quiet and peaceful. Hosts were super friendly. Comfortable bus, but be aware in cooler months-- it is a bus, so bring cozy clothes. :-) loved our time!

I cannot say enough amazing things about the hosts and the space they have created for camping. The hosts are wonderful and incredibly friendly, the space is beautiful, relaxing, and full of cool lights and art pieces. I will 100% be back and I 100% recommend it to others.
