Beautiful natural campsites in the Valley of the Moon (Ojai Valley). Our sites are within an eighth of a mile of walking, running, biking, and riding trails from Ojai to the beaches of Ventura. On many days you can experience Ojai’s famous pink moments. You can hike the trails above Ojai, boat, eat, or picnic at Lake Casitas. Travel to nearby Ventura to shop, fish the pier, or take a deep sea fishing charter or Island charter to Whale watch or fish around the Channel Islands.
Please note the aerial view of the camping area recently placed by Hipcamp is NOT AT ALL REPRESENTATIVE of the current camping sites and shows a photo that is many years old when the site was merely land.
That photo is without any of the existing amenities or improvements. The actual sites are all Larger than Federal Park and Statepark guidelines, with averages of 20'x30' for campsites and 20'x40' for a long RVCampsite.
We have planted many young trees and continue to plant trees and native shrubs around and near the sites. We have picnic tables, table coverings, fire pits, and camping rugs/footprints. There is also an outdoor shower, a shower tent with hot water, and an upgraded porta-potty with a sink.
Note: During times when high heat is predicted, we strongly recommend that our Hipcampers bring pop-up shade tents or canopies for their sites.
The Hipcamp is adjacent to our working ranch, and any photos of old sheds, trucks, a wood lot, or other equipment are NOT on the Hipcamp, but you will drive past that property to get to the separate Hipcamp area.
Wineries, Farmer's Markets, Craft Breweries, dispensaries, and more are within 10 to 15 minutes of our site. Our location allows moments when you may see Hawks, Owls, Geese, Swallows, Robins, Bluebirds, and more.
We offer both tent and RV camping.
The Majority of our Guests love it here:
"Vivian and Dave were exceptional hosts!
Easy to contact and find our way to their property. Also gave us a plethora of places to go and things to do in the Ojai area.
The area was open and spacious, and many trees and upgrades were in the works to make future stays more user-friendly.
Big pluses were the shower and toilet facilities—much appreciated !!"
Very convenient, 5 minutes from the main strip in Ojai. It was a pretty basic, but they provide everything that you need (bathroom, hot water for a shower, potable water) and they also provided firewood. Perfect bang for your buck camping.
This was a great site to stay for visiting nearby Ojai. There's lots to explore and do close by depending on your interests (e.g., short hikes/outdoor adventures, downtown Ojai with great shopping, food, and great park for kids). The camp site was basic, we were grateful for the water and electricity hookups. The toilet really is just a porta-potty, but the outdoor shower is nice. The area is so nice and quiet - though you will hear the farm's roosters. Check in was easy. Camp spot was nice and flat.
Did a group trip with friends here for the night and it was a beautiful getaway for my friends and I during our spring break. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower and privacy we had considering the hosts were on the land nearby. Host have farm animals which were not a bother at all and entertaining to watch when nearby. Campsite comes a table and fire ring (firewood can be bought on site.) Other campers were distance away but this is also because the campsite next to us was not booked. Overall is was a lovely site and Site 3 adjacent is closed to the restroom and shower. The location also has a gaint oaktree with space in the middle (there is was our chill spot with a hammock). Plenty of farm animals but also wildlife that was around, mainly birds and frogs. Check in and out was smooth and accommodating for our needs. Hosts are quick to respond. The only thing which was off was a surprise visit from one of the host after dark (this was due to a delayed zelle payment on our end and he came over to our site during our late dinner).
Working farm (goats, chickens, horses, cute pups) with a separate area for camping. 4-5 sites share one port-a-potty and awesome outdoor shower. Sites are maybe 50-75' from each other. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, trash & recycling cans, and also a light source. Fell asleep to nearby peepers, owls, and coyotes and peacocks not nearby haha. There was a set of directions and things to do emailed to me following the booking, which was a nice touch. A set of clear driving directions once inside the grounds, some signage (Camping This Way!), and site numbering would be fantastic!
