Come stay in our cozy little cabin tucked in an alder forest. Only a few minutes drive from downtown Arcata, it’s like being in the middle of the woods, right in town. This is a quiet neighborhood and is bike-friendly for getting around town. Feel free to ask us for recommendations on places to eat, get a drink, or find an adventure in Arcata and surrounding areas. We are located less than 40 minutes from Redwood National and State Parks where you can find incredible hiking trails!Come stay in our cozy little cabin tucked in an alder forest. Feel free to ask us for recommendations on places to eat, get a drink, or find an adventure in Arcata. The cabin is a short walk from the parking spot. There is a full size bed, but we do NOT provide linens or bedding so please bring your own. There is a blanket for chilly nights. Please keep in mind it can get cold at night so please plan accordingly. There are lights and electricity in cabin. Please keep in mind this is a camping experience and while the cabin provides shelter, it is rustic. Feel free to explore the garden/orchard/greenhouse area (through the small gate by the cabin), just be sure to close the gate behind you to keep the deer out. As noted, there are an abundance of banana slugs during some times of the year. They are harmless and sometime a little too friendly. Feel free to gently relocate them from around the cabin if needed. *Fall 2023 Note: We are constructing a new house near the cabin at this time. There may be construction noise during the daytime (9am-5pm) some days of the week.

We enjoyed our stay at Ted and Emily’s cabin. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely trip. The cabin had an outdoor kitchen and shower with running hot water!! The location was excellent and convenient distance to beautiful hiking trails. The hosts were very nice and provided everything we needed.

Perfect little getaway
Such a cozy spot! Arrived late and made a fire and some tea and went to bed. Couldn’t have been more peaceful. It was the perfect spot for me for my road trip down the coast. Redwood National Park was only about 45 min drive to get to tall trees trail and lady bird Johnson trail, but well worth it and you can’t beat the view!

We loved staying at Ted and Emily's place. My husband and I stayed with our very energetic puppy and their dogs were very friendly and patient with him! Ted and Emily checked in on us and made sure we were comfortable. Everything was very cozy: From the outdoor kitchen to the stove to help us stay warm. We would definitely recommend this place !

What a special spot! Definitely visit in the Spring/Summer/Fall when the surrounding trees have all their leaves. Enjoy the ample birdsong and toasty evenings with the wood burning stove. Bring some bikes and take an easy route to town! Emily and Ted were welcoming and helpful!
