Camp ikigai is a 72 acre farm/ranch stay near Sequoia-Kings (SEKI) Canyon Nat'l Parks. Rescued/EOL horses, sheep, chickens, and ducks freely roam the property. The property has a communal clubhouse with a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, firepit, hot/cold showers, compost and pit toilets, and an above ground swimming pool. Our business is committed to inclusivity and respect for people from all backgrounds and a safe inclusive space for solo female travelers. 30 minutes from park entrance, 20 min from nearby lakes, 50 minutes from Fresno. 3 hours from SF, 3.5 from LA. We have running hot/cold water for our outdoor shower but NO flushable toilets. We have pit and compost toilets filled with cedar shavings for now! Our priorities: 1. Wildfire prevention 2. Community building 3. Environmentalism and Sustainability If you're coming July-Mid August, please know it is HOT (95 average/75 night) and wildfires are a consistent threat. With that, wildfire prevention is a high priority. We have a lot of projects we have started and could use all the help we can get! Some of those are: - invasive species management - tiny home building - gardening/greenhouse building - event space building - raising livestock - medicinal plant growing + onsite apothecary (Come volunteer build the food forest and medicinal garden) Come book a cabin, park a bus or RV, bring a tent, bring your cat/dog!

This campsite offers a serene escape with its peaceful trails and interactions with free-roaming animals like horses and sheep. While many appreciate the rustic charm and the presence of friendly hosts, some guests found the site could benefit from tidying up and better signage. The amenities include a communal kitchen and composting toilets, which some found challenging in design. However, the overall experience of being close to nature and the welcoming atmosphere is often highlighted.

So green in the spring!
Gorgeous in the springtime! We came to get away for a night, and it was just what we needed. We enjoyed the fire pit, the Cozy, visiting with the horses, and a walk around the property’s hill the next day. Loved the wildflowers in the spring!

Spacious, Peaceful, and Super Welco

We had a wonderful experience at Teddy’s Tiny Town! We were traveling with our van and trailer, and the space was more than enough – spacious, clean, and very well set up for large rigs. The full hookups (water, power, and sewer) worked perfectly, and the level gravel surface made parking and setup super easy. The hosts were amazing – friendly, helpful, and always available when we needed anything. We felt truly welcomed. The place is peaceful, with beautiful desert views and a great location close to town. No wonder it was a finalist for Best Hipcamp in Nevada! We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

Beautiful place for animal lovers
21 ft campervan ·
This place is absolutely amazing. So peaceful with lots of trails to explore including a gold mine. The animals are so sweet and really make the place special. Because it is an animal sanctuary the gentle horses and one adorable sheepie roam free and will come up and say if you let them. There is also a very friendly cat and a flock of super friendly chickens. If your dogs are not trained off leash they have a nice fenced area they can play in. The camp hosts are great and very helpful in suggesting a good place for my RV. They greeted me at the gate through the ring camera which I thought was handy. I read other reviews before booking and I understood since this place is an animal sanctuary you don't get to have the joy of waking up to seeing a herd of beautiful peacful creatures without a few "horse apples". And the hosts have rakes available if you want to clear a particular area for your camp. It didn't bother me, but I am used to animals wild and domestic and understand what that entails. Real farms are not like Disney movies, they can be a little messy but it is worth it to experience living with the animals that this great place rescued from bad situations. The restrooms are your basic eco friendly composting toilets and I am an average sized person and didn't find any of them to be too tall. I was a little excited to find this too tall toilet another camper described to feel like a kid again and was a little disappointed to find everything normal sized.

Horse Poo Galore
Tent · Group trip ·
This campsite was close to Sequoia, and the horses and other animals were cool to see. It was nice that there was a kitchen with a sink. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend this HipCamp. There was horse poop EVERYWHERE; you’ll definitely step in it. The host messaged us to “camp anywhere,” and so we chose a spot with a campfire pit and table, but there was SO much random junk and trash scattered all over it (horse brushes, a wet and dirty blue tarp, a large box/package, blue ribbon/tape, a shovel, etc.). We had to tidy it up to feel more comfortable. The listing says that the host will greet you upon arrival, but we never met the host during our entire stay and had to keep messaging to ask where things were (ex: bathrooms, shower, dumpster). Would be nice if the camp hosts greeted guests and gave a tour of the space. Perhaps they can install bigger signs to help campers navigate the space. This space has potential, but they really have to tidy it up and improve the bathrooms. The bathroom that was closest to our site was a compost toilet, but the toilet itself was so high that it was difficult to squat over it. Perhaps they can put in a small stool and install a bar to hold onto while one “does the deed”? Haha!
