Alyse is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Our love affair with wine began in the late 90s. We could not get enough of the wine tasting experience in our native Sonoma County. Before we knew it, Alyse was working for a small startup winery owned by Korbel. This afforded us insight and access to the production side of the wine world, and before long, we were cultivating our own ideas for a startup winery. One of the defining features of this industry is the willingness of everyone to share their knowledge. We are very appreciative of those accomplished individuals that helped us along the way. Our dream soon led us to the foothills and the former gold rush town of Bangor. This is the second time Tod has lived in Bangor. The first time was in Submarine Base Bangor, Washington. The oak studded foothills and terroir reminded us of the eastern side of Sonoma County. Affordable land and a favorable business and regulatory climate completed the package, making Bangor California our new home. We started developing the winery property in January 2002. The first acre of zinfandel was planted in the spring of 2005. We officially opened the winery doors to the public on Mother’s Day 2011. We personally do all aspects of the wine production and management with much needed and appreciated help from our children, family, and awesome wine club.We are open year-round.  Many areas to camp by the vineyards or RV hookup pad on cement (extra to hook up). Local activities of hiking, swimming, boating, wine tasting, and more (Check out Explore Butte County for interactive maps). Evening is perfect for stargazing, including many shooting stars.  Great weather year-round. Access to outdoor picnic area, bocce ball courts, corn hole, BBQs, and pizza oven. We have 2 nice winery bathrooms includes toilet and sink.  We are a working Vineyard/Winery there are animals(pigs and horses) on the property;dogs to keep deer, rabbits and other animals to keep property safe.  Our Tasting Room is open every weekend for wine and spirit tasting, see our website at Hickman Family Vineyards for details! If interested in a tasting during the weekday let us know, we can set up an appointment.  In the winter months, we have fire pits available at each site.

The wine tasting was so wonderful with a beautiful wine tasting room. This is the best wine I have ever had. Alyse is super nice and her husband is a wonderful. made some homemade pizza and drank right in the vinyard and looked at the nice cool pond stared at millions of stars. Woke up to taking pictures in the vinyard best pictures I've ever taken. ps the moonshine is unimaginable.

Hidden Gem close to Sacramento
Tent
Amazing time at the vineyards. The host was so responsive. Clear communication. Bathrooms were clean and accessible all night. The location was dog friendly. Really enjoyed the atmosphere- will be back again! There is even a pig you can feed your scraps to and a pond right next to the site. Easy to find, fun to do a wine or moonshine tasting and just wander back to your tent. Really glad I found this hidden gem. Will be back for sure.

We had a great time camping at the vineyard. Only three groups can camp at a time so there wasn’t much noise from other campers. The vineyard is beautiful, wine is yummy, and bocce was fun!
