Whether you're seeking relaxation or an adventure, our place offers the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. Explore the local charm of arts, wineries, festivals, and nearby trails off the beaten path. Bring your horses and have a peaceful place to stay while attending equine events in San Diego County and Temecula. Our ranch provides the perfect base for discovering the unique offerings of this quaint town and rugged terrain. We are next to the Santa Margarita River Trails, famous for world-class hiking, mountain biking and horse riding along the last free-flowing river in Southern California. We are also a 20-minute drive to Old Town Temecula, 30-minute drive to the beach in Oceanside and 15-minute drive to the east gate of Camp Pendleton. In 1-2 hours, you can also get to Mount Palomar, Julian, Idyllwild, San Diego, Orange County and other destinations. We offer a large camping spot for your own trailer, RV or tents next to our barn. There is an outdoor shower and rustic water closet, as well as water and electric hookups. Please see more information below or inquire for any additional details. Traveling with horses? They have room to stay in our Horsetel too! We have up to 5 stalls available in a covered barn, as well as a fenced pasture. Whether you are in town for an equestrian event or to ride the trails, our barn has great access to both and comfort for your horse(s). You can ride direct to the river trails from the campsite, or trailer your horses for 3 minutes to the trailhead. Select the add-on option at checkout to book this and please send a message to the host with details on your horses. No horses but interested in riding the trails? We can arrange for a guided trail ride. Please inquire in advance for availability, as this will be booked separately and direct with the guide. Trails are advanced and not recommended for beginners.Up to 1 RV or Trailer and up to 3 Tents allowed per booking. Max length for trailer and tow vehicle together is 45 feet. A rustic water closet w/ flush toilet, outdoor shower and gas firepit are provided. A wash sink and additional electric outlets are available in the barn. We hope you enjoy the songs of the coyotes, owls, hawks and other wildlife during your stay! You may even hear the neighbor's donkey and goats a time or two. Please know that you are camping in nature. In warmer months, rattlesnakes and scorpions have been seen on the property. Please keep all gates closed.

Warm hospitality

Our family's two-day adventure at this enchanting camping site in Fallbrook was nothing short of magical, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Jeremy and his wife. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for, like we were part of their extended family. Jeremy, the host, is a true gem! His warmth, kindness, and passion for sharing the beauty of nature made our experience truly unforgettable. He took the time to show our daughters his beloved animals - bunnies, chickens, and even his beautiful horses! The girls were thrilled and still talk about the encounter with wide eyes and huge smiles. But what truly sets this campsite apart is the gentle kindness of Jeremy and his wife. And let's not forget the fresh eggs from their chickens - a delicious treat that added to the charm of our stay! The campsite itself is picturesque, with lush greenery and serene surroundings that allowed us to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, stunning scenery, and warm hospitality, look no further than this camping site in Fallbrook. We will definitely come back!

One of the best HipCamps!

I am so grateful for the three nights I spent at Horsetel! Jeremy’s land is the epitome of what HipCamp is about! He was very helpful as I navigated RV life and is full of information! I was there with my dog who also had a blast! I will be back as Horsetel is the time away you need even if you didn’t know it before you got there!

Horsetel River Retreat

A mountain oasis close to home.

Incredibly beautiful! You can park your camper or tent right in the middle of the mountains and feel surrounded by nature, only a small distance from Riverside or San Diego. Jeremy was super nice in getting us settled and then just checking in occasionally to see if we needed anything. He gave us directions to the creek and river which were FANTASTIC for the kids and gorgeous hiking trails. Be aware that depending on where you choose to be there may be goats, which are super friendly, and the roads to get there can be pretty tight and steep for certain kinds of trailers. This was our favorite camping trip of the year and we think we may come back again!

Horsetel River Retreat

This was a great campsite/farm stay! Jeremy set clear instructions on the directions on how to find the campsite. We loved the goats that roamed around. There aren’t any other farm animals in the campsite so Jeremy was kind enough to show us his neighbor’s farm animals, which included many horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits, and turtles. The view from the campsite is beautiful as well since the hills surround the area. I would definitely recommend this campsite!
