Gold Ridge Forest
Nice but not exactly as expected
Pros:
The host was great and very accommodating. The site had plenty of space for tents and provided plenty of shade. It was a beautiful space.
Cons:
It is not flat. There are flat spots to put tents but the entire thing is on a hill. The bugs are very prevalent, and we all got many mosquito bites. I wouldn't say, for the price, the privacy was what I would have expected. It is technically a private site, however it is very close to other large camp grounds and it is right next to a house where people live. Additionally, if you do the walk to the lake, you absolutely will run into many other people and dogs (even horses in our case). The only reason we book expensive hip camps, rather than cheaper traditional campsites, is because we want our reactive dogs to have a positive stress free experience. I wouldn't say this was a good option for that. If you aren't worried about that, then I think it would be a great spot.

The campsite is as awesome as the listing reads and as great other reviewers make it out to be! The moment you pull up to the campgrounds, you'll see it's as pristine and well-kept as it looks in the photos. Really, photos can't capture the clear starry evening I experienced, or the fact that even though the campground is easy to access, you'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere by nighttime. There is indeed effort needed to get to the lake, whether a leisurely 20+ min walk with gentle elevation, or a 15ish min walk with a lot of elevation. I didn't mind it, and it's the price to pay to have more privacy. If I had to bring a bunch of coolers and lake toys with met, it's a convenient and short drive from camp.
I discovered the host Jason is a star example of what a Hipcamp host should be! Not only does he make sure that his campground is as immaculate as he sells it to be, he was very quick to answer my many questions about his listing. After just confirming I was able to check into the campground, he defaulted to no contact, allowing me a full private experience of the site. But at my request, he was a (very) friendly local guide and offered a lot of the support you'll read about in other reviews. The guy genuinely enjoys being a host and sharing the beauty of his property, and just wants us Hipcampers to have a good time.
Looking forward to making more trips with friends and family here, and this will be my go-to site anytime I camp in the area.

Forest haven
Very private, secluded place for those seeking quiet and solitude. The land was perfect for my dogs to explore. I chose to camp at the bottom of the hill, which folks should note is a long way to the toilet.

I’m super jealous this is someone’s backyard. Jason was responsive and helpful. Lake is not to far and plenty of spots to set up camp and have some privacy. We definitely plan to come back. It’s a beautiful spot.

Enjoyed it just a tiny problem
I really enjoyed this campsite ! I love the space that it had for the tents and for the cars as well . Only thing I will say about this is how the showers are set up . Me and the girls had to cover up the outside shower because the netting was see through and Someone could easily walk or see us . It was just a little bit sketch going up and down with our cars (at least for low car riders ) ,but other than that that I enjoyed the space and nature around us!
