Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center is a nonprofit with a five minute walk to Jug Handle State Reserve, Jug Handle beach and the Ecological Staircase trail. We offer 11 unique campsites with plenty of space and privacy. Each site has two picnic tables, a fire ring, parking for two cars and plenty of space for your tents. We also offer three lovely cabins, which have power and access to a shared kitchen and bathroom with a hot shower. Our 33 acres include a native plant nursery, community gardens, forests, meadows, and nature trails. Our site has lots of nature trails, is peaceful and beautiful and just a 5-minute walk to Jug Handle Beach and the Jug Handle Preserve. Our Mission: We offer a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all backgrounds to explore nature and connect with the natural word. Nature stewardship is central to our non-profit mission and as an organization we are engaged in many nature restoration projects throughout Mendocino County. We also provide a supportive learning environment for nature education for disadvantaged youth during the school year. If you teach k-12 and would like to bring your classroom to Jug Handle contact us about special rates and our immersive nature education programs.

Quiet and lots of space
Great Camp, lots of space and quiet. We really enjoyed our short stay.

#1 - Shady & Big
The actual campsite was difficult to find. We spent some time wandering around the property as the map we received at the entrance was inaccurate. I was told I could text to have firewood delivered and never received a response. When we actually located the campsite, there was no way to wash our hands and there was one port a potty available for all campers, as far as I could tell. The site itself was fine, we were just using it as a place to sleep for the night. Any expectation of more than that, I wouldn’t recommend.

#3 - Grandma's Wild Woods
Fantastic and affordable campsite
We really enjoyed our campsite, and the directions got us straight to it. The Porta potties were possibly the cleanest and freshest smelling that I have ever been in. Our site (#3) had a grassy area next to it that was good for our kids to play in while we set up camp. Someone in our party had a leg injury, so we didn’t walk to the beach, but rather had a short drive to a state park beach just a couple minutes from our site. There was a rustic sink basin at campsite 2 that we were able to access (since it wasn’t occupied), and that was great for doing dishes.

#8 - Woodland's hangout
The location is really good and the place nice, but the toilets are portable and they were really dirty after the first day. A group was partying with loud music after silent time and we didn't see anyone responsible of the place in three days. The place has great possibilities but right now it has things to improve.

#2 - Sunny Spot in Meadow
Nice place, great location
I usually don’t go to campsites as I usually do boondocking, so this review may be a little skewed. By the time I paid for the campsite, Hipcamp fees and taxes, I was at $57.60, which seems a lot for a place to park for the night- I don’t use the picnic table, fire ring, and you need to pack your garbage out. Portapotty is clean. Managed to find a close to level spot to park. Was only there for the night, might be more worth it if you take advantage of the local hiking trails/access to the shore. If they could offer just a parking spot for a lower price, I’d take advantage of that.
