NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE LOAFER CREEK CAMPGROUND AT LAKE OROVILLE SRA Lake Oroville was created by the Oroville Dam, which the State Department of Water Resources completed in 1967 after 5 years of construction. Lake Oroville conserves water for distribution by the State Water Project to homes, farms, and industries in the San Francisco Bay area, the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California. The Oroville facilities of the project also serve to provide flood control and smog free generation of electric power in addition to recreation. When the Lake is at its maximum elevation, it includes some 15,500 surface acres for recreation and 167 miles of shoreline. Recreation areas are spotted around the Lake and boaters can land at any point to explore the surrounding country. The lake offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping, picnicking, horseback riding, hiking, sail and power boating, water-skiing, fishing, swimming, boat-in camping, floating campsites and horse camping.

Site 51 - Lake Oroville Glamping
Fun camping with family.
The tent was very comfortable and the area was very close to the showers and restrooms making for an easy convenient stay. The lake itself was a short drive away to enjoy some water fun on a hot day.

Site 51 - Lake Oroville Glamping
Basic glamping
The place is amazing! The campsite was good and we were placed next to the bathroom and showers. Beware though if you book this just know this is nothing but basic glamping they provide just the tent and 2 beds. We did not know and were kinda blindsided the day of. Luckily we brought everything. We will definitely be booking again. Now we know to bring everything else.

Lake Oroville Glamping
Great for family fun
Amazing and well equipped campsite. Everything we needed was available at the campsite. The facilities were also clean and well maintained. The lake was so close and full. Easy to find a spot to drop your stuff and get into the water. Really great time

Lake Oroville Glamping Site 77
Lovely campsite; kind hosts
Tents are big and spacious and supplies provided are perfect. They are also extremely responsive to requests and always try to work with you. I strongly encourage you to check the weather before booking. The hosts warned us of the heat but we went anyway and it was miserable. Fans are not enough to cool off when over 100’. Also the lake has barely any water and it’s not walking distance to cool off. You’ll need to drive to the aquatics center or riverbed park to get relief. We will go again when cooler

Lake Oroville Glamping
Great Experience!
We had a good time glamping with Creative Excursions at Lake Oroville. The tent and the amenities inside were good, the bathrooms and shower were clean and well maintained. The location overall was good and felt safe. The host shared all the details prior to the camping and kept in touch during our stay there. He was quick to resolve a couple issues with the bed and fan in our tent. Overall great experience!

Lake Oroville Glamping
Good, basic Glamping Experience
The camp was very well put together,, stylish and they provided all we needed to cook, games , a fan , charging station , chairs and very comfortable beds, .it was secluded and comfortable. There was a reservation glitch as a result of a technical error and Creative excursions politely fixed it and set us up with another camp site. A few of the lanterns they provided needed new batteries but we made do with the ones that worked. Unfortunately we had loud neighbors who didn’t observe the post 10pm quiet hour rule, but that was not the fault of our hosts , so all in all I would highly recommend this group . We cooked with charcoal, wood and grill with the provided fire pit but because the grill was high it was a bit hard to control the heat, so I recommend bringing a portable grill or camo stove. The water in the lake is very low but the group and main gate recommend another family friendly recreation area about 20 minutes away. Oroville is a bit economically depressed but the downtown has some cute shops and a great ice cream parlor. It feels like a 1950s town straight out of Back to the Future
