15 acres of land right nestled up against South Mountain, on an ecologically-minded property where we are building a sustainability education center. From your campsite, you'll have a sweeping view of the Topa Topa mountain range, as well as a birds eye view of our community farm. Site has access to a geodesic dome, a funky spot to hang out, meditate, do yoga, or picnic. There is one electric outlet to plug into, as well as a hookup for water. Behind the site is South Mountain, where you can scramble, look for fossils from the Sespe range (20 million years old) and enjoy some peace and quiet.Pitch your tent or park your campervan (a large RV would be challenging) on a beautiful plateau beneath the face of South Mountain. You'll have the hill to yourself, and can enjoy sweeping views and seclusion. For those bringing small animals, know that there are coyotes and the occasional bobcat, so keep pets within sight - esp at dawn and dusk! The site is just 10 minutes from downtown Santa Paula, with an historic main street, restaurants, and old town charm, close to several hiking areas, and a 40 minute drive to Ojai. With prior arrangement with hosts, we can offer a dinosaur tour for kids and interested folks of our collections, 8 partial triceratops and a fabrication lab where we are 3D printing missing bones, and offer a small piece of dinosaur bone as a keepsake. We are working to build a science center in Ventura County, our garage/warehouse is full of artifacts, including what must be the largest collection of late-cretaceous dinosaurs in the County! For film buffs, this property was the former ranch of actor/hearthrob Steve McQueen.

Anna and the whole gang at Leap Lab Farm were amazing hosts! I came for a quick overnight and ended up spending half the time chatting about their adventures, the work they’ve done in preservation and conservation is truly astounding. It’s worth noting the property suffered some loss during the Mountain fire a few months ago (Nov 2024), much of the greenery burned off but thankfully the structures were spared. They’re working tirelessly to revitalize and I’m sure it will be back to its thriving glory in no time, and their hospitality more than made up for it.

We had an amazing stay at this location! The site was quiet, peaceful, and offered stunning views of the city lights at night and the stars above. We stayed in the upper part of the campsite, which had its own dome and electrical hookups—a nice setup. The outdoor art sculptures added a unique touch to the experience. In the morning, we were greeted by their adorable dogs before visiting the goats (and their babies!), chickens, and even checking out the dinosaur exhibit. Such a great spot for a relaxing getaway—highly recommend!

Very gracious hosts, it was easy to get in and set up. We had a ton of space to roam. It was a great site, nice views and clear skies for stargazing. My a kids loved the animals and fossil exhibits. We’ll be back!

Anna and her dog greeted us upon arrival and we were happy to set up camp on a high point that included a geodesic dome and interesting sculpture. There were lovely views from the site. The amenities were as advertised and my dog and I settled in for a lovely evening. We enjoyed our stay and were sorry to have to leave a bit earlier than planned. I would recommend this Hipcamp for smaller RVs and tents. Anna is very responsive and her directions were excellent.

What a gorgeous site! We tent camped on the platform inside the geodesic dome. My husband and I hadn’t camped in a while, and we wanted somewhere easy, nearby and beautiful. The view of the mountainside and the valley were stunning! We brought a small table for our kettle and could have cooked a whole meal using the electrical outlet, but we were lazy and went into town for a delicious Cajun meal! The hosts were warm and knowledgeable, and kindly offered us a tour of their dinosaur artifacts. My favorite part of the camping experience was the beauty and seclusion of this site. Amazing!

The campsite is beautiful. You have an amazing view of the mountains and the valley. There is water and electricity and plenty of space for a trailer or tents. The hosts could not be more amazing, showing our Dino-obsessed kids their collection. Highly recommend this site.
