This land has been a community gathering space for the Native's Ceremony and Healing Space for over a thousand years. Feast your eyes upon the Matates and traces of the people that once gathered here so long ago. Upon the mid 1800's we had a Settler named Nate Harrison find this to be the ideal space, and he set up homestead here, and lived an amazing full life. He was to become the first African American to aquire land here in San Diego County, and his homestead remains to this day; studied by archaeology students to this day. Sensitive habitat and magic lies within our gates, and we must approach the mountain as we would any sacred space; with RESPECT. We welcome you to enjoy Nate's land and inspire who you are deep inside your heart.

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
The campsite was absolutely incredible and we had an amazing time. I came here with my friends to celebrate my birthday and none of us had experience with camping so we were a bit nervous about this trip, but the people on the site were so helpful and made us feel incredibly comfortable. We were a group of 5 girls, college students, and at no point in time during our stay did any of us feel uncomfortable or unsafe. The bathrooms were clean and easy to access and the site itself was absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset. I was weary about trusting the photos of the campsite online, because they seemed too good to be true, but the place genuinely looks like the pictures, if not better. One thing to note is that the drive up to the site is a bit rough, especially for people who aren’t inexperienced with driving on unpaved roads. There were lots of potholes and you have to go quite slow. I wouldn’t recommend driving to the site at night. Hiking trails were also a little bit far from the site, so we didn’t really end up hiking. Even then, we had an incredible time. The site was well taken care of, has a rich history, and we will definitely be visiting again!

Must camp here
The best place I’ve camped so far in the San Diego area!! The land was absolutely beautiful. Shade from the trees and gorgeous views! There’s so much beautiful wildlife as well :) however be careful on the way up! I came in a huge van luckily so it wasn’t too bad but I worry for little cars. Just a bit bumpy, but with the proper amount of tact and skill anybody can make it up. Definitely plan on coming again!

The most magical healing place! Such amazing people there, and the land is breath taking! Peaceful, spiritual, quiet, and full of love. So much history, you can feel it as you walk around. Please consider this place for your next trip! See for yourself, and I forgot to mention all the animals! Pigs, a goat, chickens, dogs! Vicki is the most warm and wonderful host. Thank you for all you do- we will be back and to volunteer too! 🙏🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼🫶🏼
