This was not a great experience - the place was pretty shabby and there were a number of things that led me to leave a rare negative review:
1. If you are at all concerned about security, the front door does not close, meaning it also doesn’t lock.
2. The upper portion of the door is a window without a shade, so it is super bright in the cabin.
3. The sink was actively dirty.
4. When I arrived, I was greeted by a gigantic German Shepherd who came running up to the car and tried to put his head into the car through my window. The owner was nowhere in sight, and so I cautiously got out of the car. The dog was very curious but not obviously sweet (I witnessed two dog attacks as a child that make me very cautious around dogs I don’t know). It was also raining, and the dog wanted to put his soaking wet body on my both me and my luggage as I was trying to unload. Again, the owner was nowhere in sight.
The whole place felt like it was very marginal when it was first built however many decades ago. Since then, it has fallen into a state that led me to just want to leave asap the next morning. For me, I’d highly suggest either spending a little more for a proper VRBO/AirBnB/Hotel/Motel, or just camp in a tent at a campsite. I wish I’d flipped a coin and done either of these things.
The nice thing I can say is that the view from the front porch is beautiful.
