Our property is 142 acres located on the top of east Cuesta grade, elevation approximately 2100. We are secluded enough to feel like you're far away from city life but in reality only 20 minute drive to downtown San Luis Obispo. The main road up continues past our property and turns into the Los Padres National Forest and is very popular for hiking and biking with locals. We also have private trails within our property. We have a farm consisting of 10 sheep, 10 goats, 30 chickens, 2 pigs, 4 dogs, a cat. Interaction with farm animals may be possible upon request. Most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Guests have enjoyed having a morning coffee in the company of sheep and a couple of pigs on the other side of the fence. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)
Overall we had a great experience. It’s a good camping spot. It was convenient to have a trash bin next to the picnic table. Drive up is a bit narrow (one lane) and it was helpful that we were in an SUV.
Beautiful campgrounds. The kids had a joyful time finding toads, lizards and snakes and visiting with the farm animals.
It was a full moon one night and the sky was glorious. It was windy a couple of nights and thankfully we were prepared with our gear and a thoughtfully cleared out area with tree protection to pitch our tent.
I loved tent camping at Puri camp. A beautiful property and site located a a couple of miles up from highway 101. Very quiet, peaceful with great views. The site is clean, great parking, and was just perfect. The toilet is a short walk from the camp site, and the shower was clean and a short drive. I will be back! Karina and Chris's communication was excellent from booking to onsite during my stay to check out.
Not gonna lie , the approach from south bound is tricky. After that there is a couple of miles on a single wide dirt road . As soon we arrived at our site we knew any hassles were definitely worth it. The site was flat with beautiful panoramic views. The hosts were kind and helpful. We will definitely return.
