Not What I Expected from the Photos
6 m campervan · With pets · Because I was able to stay in Moss Beach, a lovely community just north of Half Moon Bay, I tolerated this site. Booking remotely and seeing the pictures, I was led to believe through the provided photos, that I was overlooking the coastline, a beach setting with a fire and white sands and cozy surroundings. Nothing could be further from this. My view of the ocean was through a gap in two houses across the street where I stayed.
The “site” was nothing more than an uneven dirt patch directly in front of the host’s home, exactly next to the street.
Because the next day was refuge pickup day, two large cans “graced” my rig nearby. At 5:30 am that morning, three separate collections trucks came by with all the light and noise you might expect.
Need a bathroom? Not at this site and I knew that. Thankfully just around the corner was a state run area with a bathroom. There is a small Managed Protected area at the shore to visit as well.
The upshot for me is that for $60 a night and the misleading information provided, people should consider the State Beaches nearby in Half Moon Bay, a way better value. This is a $10 site, max.
