3.5 acres of redwood forest on the beautiful "slow coast"Get away to the redwoods in our renovated 1968 Aristocrat Land-Commander! Perfectly situated on the "slow coast," this is the ideal base camp for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy all that the area has to offer: hiking, cycling, beach-combing, surfing, paddling, creekside picnics, goat farms, wine tasting, and more. For a tasty meal, camping supplies, and live music on the weekends, the Loma Mar Store is a 5-minute walk. The town of Pescadero is a picturesque 10-minute drive (or 30-minute cycle) along the creek.
A unique glamping experience! The camper sits on an area of our 4-acre property that used to have a home built on it (it burnt down back in the '90s). There's still an existing slab foundation (which makes for a nice open space to play a game of ping pong or cornhole).
The camper will best accommodate a couple, but would also work for a small family (see details below for bookings with children). Cozy and comfortable, the camper is equipped with electricity, a kitchen and sink, small refrigerator, heater, convertible full-size futon, and a dinette table (which can be lowered to make a single bed).
There is a flat area behind the patio deck which is ideal for a tent camping if an additional sleeping area if needed. Just outside the camper, a spacious redwood deck with lounge set makes for ample hang-out space. You'll find a grill with tools, camp sink, hammock, solostove fire pit (with skewers for roasting marshmallows or sausages), and ping pong table for guests to use at their leisure while back at camp. There's a hot-water outdoor shower hidden in the trees (accessible via spiral staircase) for cleaning up after a day of play.
We do NOT provide linens, pillows, towels, or other “essentials” — think of this as a campsite (albeit, a very cool one). We recommend bringing sleeping bags for your bedding; if classic linens/blankets are more your style, the futon is full-sized. Please also remember to BYO pillows, towels, and toiletries.
We also do NOT provide firewood! If you plan to use the solo stove firepit, you can pick up bundles of firewood locally at the Loma Mar Store or at Safeway in Half Moon Bay.
The property does NOT have reliable WiFi. There is technically WiFi, but it notoriously finicky and is not guaranteed! You will likely be able to connect intermittently and send messages, but it’s not strong enough for phone calls or streaming of any kind. Our hope if that guests will use their time here to disconnect and enjoy the surrounding nature!
An important note for families with young children: there are a number of ledges with steep drop-offs beneath, mainly around the slab foundation (where the ping pong table is), but also the patio deck and spiral staircase leading to the outdoor shower. There are a few photos that show the varying heights between the slab, the trail up to the outdoor shower, and the upper deck with the outdoor fireplace. Please be advised that the outdoor areas around the camper can be dangerous for young children and the property is best suited for adults or parents with kids ages 10 and up. We are happy to welcome families to our campsite, but want to make sure parents feel fully comfortable and are able to enjoy their stay without stress.
