Attn: Summer 2024 Rollins Lake has lower water level due to some work above at Spaulding Resevoir. Kayaking and Padleboarding is fine, but there is not a boat ramp available for ski boats. We live lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live over 30 beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants. We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! We have 3 accommodations on the property -A GUEST SUITE (lakeside), -A CABIN (15 min walk or 3 min drive/5 min walk, -A GLAMPING DOME with an additional tent site (lakeside)! We have fishing boat, kayaks, and paddle boards for rent.

Rollins Lake Glamping Dome

Great communication from host and had the most lovely stay at the dome! Included EVERYTHING we needed and even the bathroom and shower were beautiful! There’s a cool short walk to Rollins Reservoir. I highly recommend and would love to stay again.

Farmhouse Cabin @Rollins

Fun at the Farmhouse

We had a great time! The attention to details in the farmhouse made our stay even more enjoyable. It was both cozy and fun. The outdoor tub was spectacular! We rented the boat and loved it. We spent the day on the lake and caught a bunch of bass! We highly recommend the Farmhouse! The communication was easy and they were quick to respond! You will enjoy this place! Thank you. We hope to return!

Rollins Lake Glamping Dome

I absolutely loved the site and location, it was absolutely beautiful! The hike to the lake was definitely a bit tiring so just be ready for some relatively steep hills. The drive to the location wasn’t too bad either but I would definitely recommend a 4wd for the gravel path but 2wd is absolutely able to as well (I came in with a Honda fit) just be ready for some relatively low holes in the path that your car may get stuck on, but overall the location was beautiful and I would absolutely come back again!

Rollins Lake Glamping Dome

We had a lovely time. We spent most of our mornings and evenings sitting on the deck overlooking a gorgeous private view with twinkling lights. We were close to Grass Valley and enjoyed a day walking around going through the shops. The dome has AC and was so thankful as it did get hot during the day. We gave this a so, so rating because we were not aware that Rollins Lake is almost empty and we weren’t able to do the water activities that we thought we’d be able to. Also, there was quite a bit of dog hair in the tent so better cleaning and dusting is necessary if dogs will be allowed. The fridge had a smell like something went bad inside before we arrived. Overall, the decorating was cute and comfortable.

Rollins Lake Glamping Dome

Comfy romantic woodland spot

Visited late Aug. 2024 in perfect weather. Secluded and extra comfortable setting with classy features. We advise AWD and enough car ground clearance to get safely up to this location and expect a short rocky hike to get down to the water at Rollins Lake. Love the provided amenities and guide.

Farmhouse Cabin @Rollins

A slice of heaven on earth

'A slice of heaven on earth' is the only way I can explain our trip while staying at the Farmhouse Cabin. The cabin was cozy and quaint, perfect for 2 people and potentially a 3rd if they're ok with sleeping on the couch on the first floor. The home was fully stocked, and snacks were open to guests. Erin was responsive and kind. We loved the outdoor tub more than we thought we would. I suggest making the trek on an all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle, as our little 2-wheel had difficulty making it up the hill. But even that couldn't stop this weekend from how wonderful it was. Watching the hummingbirds and feeling the breeze while sitting out on the porch was incredibly peaceful. We can't wait to return.
