I’ve had the pleasure to be the “caretaker” of this special land once inhabited by the Maidu Indians for the past 43 years. This is SPECIAL ground here and I’m sure you will feel the MAGIC!!! This 40 acres sits on the Yuba River Ridgetop. At the "Platform of Pleasure" you will enjoy 100,000+ acre views of protected land looking North to the High Sierra, minutes away from downtown Nevada City and 8-10 miles from Yuba River Trailheads. Firewood bundles are $15 per bundle (2+ hours of campfire when campfires 🔥 are allowed). There is a $10.00 dog fee per dog/per stay. On our property like anywhere in the woods there are mosquitos, so you should bring bug spray. We offer a tent platform, as well as a canvas tent listing. Guests love staying here: "From the moment we arrived Chris was nothing but amazing. He helped us get settled in and even recommended some beautiful spots to hike/sight see. They are both so generous! The campsite beautiful and they did a very nice job supplying us with any materials we may need. Definitely coming back during the summer!"

The Love Shack

Such a lovely spot and what gracious hosts. super close to Nevada city and the glamping bed was extra comfortable - loved it and will come again!

Fabulous camping spot!

Perfect hosts, both are super friendly, helpful.and really care that you have a great stay. Platform is an amazing location, we loved the short walk from where you park to get to platform and the platform view is incredible. Great spot to hang out as there is plenty of shade, peace and quiet and also a beautiful sunset at this time of year - it lasts for such a long time. Star gazing was a fun time too. 100% would stay again

i loved staying in the tiny home, its was so cozy and had the best views! hosts are very accommodating and nice. shower on property to use, cute swing. definitely want to stay again and try the tent stay next!

The Love Shack

What stood out for us was the kids expressing that this was one of the best camping places they’ve been to. For the parents, we had a wonderful time just relaxing without the busy traffic of public parks. For the dogs, they loved it off leash (when and where allowed). Thank you Chris and Rebecca.

The Love Shack

The Love Shack is an amazing and special space. We stayed for three nights and felt the good energy this place has. I can't say anything but positive things for hosts, Chris and Rebecca -they really are the kindest and most welcoming people. There's plenty of space all around you and a platform perfect for morning stretches and coffee! After a couple of days at the river, we had campfire for two nights and that added to the 'magic' we experienced. On the last night I even saw a shooting star! I think next time we'll check out the other site as well, but will say the Love Shack provided a space to disconnect and also reconnect. We all left feeling happy and joyful. So yes, there is a certain magic here not to be missed if you allow yourself to experience it.

Can’t wait to come back!

This was our third time staying at this Hipcamp, and we’ll definitely be back. Even in the rain, we had a great time. Chris and Rebecca are the nicest hosts.
