Camp ikigai is a 72 acre farm/ranch stay near Sequoia-Kings (SEKI) Canyon Nat'l Parks. Rescued/EOL horses, sheep, chickens, and ducks freely roam the property. The property has a communal clubhouse with a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, firepit, hot/cold showers, compost and pit toilets, and an above ground swimming pool. Our business is committed to inclusivity and respect for people from all backgrounds and a safe space for solo female and LQBTQIA+ travelers. 30 minutes from park entrance, 20 min from nearby lakes, 50 minutes from Fresno. 3 hrs from SF, 3.5 from LA. We have running hot/cold water for our outdoor shower but NO flushable toilets. We have pit and compost toilets filled with cedar shavings for now! Our priorities: 1. Wildfire prevention 2. Community building 3. Environmentalism and Sustainability If you're coming July-Mid August, please know it is HOT (95 average/75 night) and wildfires are a consistent threat. With that, wildfire prevention is a high priority. We have a lot of projects we have started and could use all the help we can get! Some of those are: - invasive species management - tiny home building - gardening/greenhouse building - event space building - raising livestock - medicinal plant growing + onsite apothecary Come book a cabin, park a bus or RV, bring a tent, bring your cat/dog!

Horse Poo Galore
Tent · Group trip ·
This campsite was close to Sequoia, and the horses and other animals were cool to see. It was nice that there was a kitchen with a sink. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend this HipCamp. There was horse poop EVERYWHERE; you’ll definitely step in it. The host messaged us to “camp anywhere,” and so we chose a spot with a campfire pit and table, but there was SO much random junk and trash scattered all over it (horse brushes, a wet and dirty blue tarp, a large box/package, blue ribbon/tape, a shovel, etc.). We had to tidy it up to feel more comfortable. The listing says that the host will greet you upon arrival, but we never met the host during our entire stay and had to keep messaging to ask where things were (ex: bathrooms, shower, dumpster). Would be nice if the camp hosts greeted guests and gave a tour of the space. Perhaps they can install bigger signs to help campers navigate the space. This space has potential, but they really have to tidy it up and improve the bathrooms. The bathroom that was closest to our site was a compost toilet, but the toilet itself was so high that it was difficult to squat over it. Perhaps they can put in a small stool and install a bar to hold onto while one “does the deed”? Haha!

I loved it here. They are very welcoming to people of diverse backgrounds or identity’s . The animals are sooooo cute. The hosts are sooooo nice. I would stay here again 10/10. The fridge and outdoor kitchen were a plus.

Many surprising. All the animals’ eyes are soft and warm. They came to our side lightly to smell and sense.

Quaint spot with furry camp mates!

Camping here was great! Easy access and we got in when it was dark with no problem! Very quiet and the views are awesome! Plus there was a really awesome outdoor shower. The hosts were very nice as well. Also a plus we got to see some horses and a sheep. I highly recommend if you are in the area or cruising through!

Camping with animals! Very private.
It was nice once we got there! Great property with unique landscape and plenty of trees/coverings. We didn’t receive arrival information prior so that was the only hiccup, as it was hard to contact the owners with little service.
