The property is about as remote as you can imagine. It is bordered on all sides by empty land lots. The nearest house is over 1/2 a mile. The property is at the top of the mountain. 360 views!! Down to desert, across to Tehachapi, and over the community of Lake Hughes. It’s spectacular, the space and peace is breathtaking. Many local people have said it’s the best views in the whole area. At certain times of year the mountains are snow capped. We are at 3800 feet, so there is snow at times in winter. The property is a working horse ranch, and small holding. We share the space with pigs, goats, Abigail the donkey, chickens, and horses. You are welcome to visit with them. There is lots of meadow area to camp!!! Please do not plan to arrive after dark. The maps usually will send people, on incorrect routes, and you will need additional directions from me.Pitch your tent or park your van, on any of our available meadow area. You will have lots of space and privacy. Although there is no water hook up, there is water available to carry by the horse barn.  The terrain is rough, hillside, although there are flatter parts. Endless trails to explore. Lake Hughes has a wolf sanctuary, ostrich sanctuary, the pacific crest trail, The Rock Inn, Castaic lake, and Pyramid lake for swimming are not too far. This is area is big for dirt bikes, and off roading too. You will need to get detailed instructions on how to find. Maps are wrong. Please make contact for directions. 5 to 10mph speed limit on property. This is very strict! Dogs are loose, donkeys, horses etc. Please do not put their safety at risk! Please do not try to arrive the first time after dark- it’s too difficult to find in the dark! This is a very self sufficient listing. I am not always available to guide you on where to pitch or how to find it. Probably best suited to the intrepid types, rather than anyone needing a lot of assistance. 🙏🙏🙏

It's so quiet up here
A beautiful hilltop property. The views are beautiful and the environment is peaceful, relaxing and clean. If you are just looking for a spot to throw down a tent or park a campervan this is great place. Thea is a wonderful host and does an excellent job of maintaining the property.

Looved!
We tent camped for 2 nights and it was amazing! Views were insane, rolling clouds over the hills and could see far into the valley. Thea was super friendly and even let us borrow her tent after we realized we had forgotten our tent poles at home. Made great friends with her dog, Pirate too! Would definitely recommend bringing extra layers/blankets beyond a sleeping bag! The clouds did come over us both nights while we were camping and we got a little wet because the tent we ended up grabbing at Walmart for that second night was more of a summer/dry style. I would assume clouds roll over most nights. Thea also said they got snow in May!! Elevation!! Overall loved!!! <3 would 100% stay again

Access by AWD or 4x4, No trailers
Most importantly, people need to know this place is accessible only by a very long, steep, uneven, tilted, narrow dirt mountain road with washouts. No turn-arounds. This is not for a large RV, pull trailer or top-heavy vehicle. It requires AWD or 4x4 and very slow driving. We made it up after a nerve-racking experience driving our camper truck (F350 4x4 with camper on truckbed). Not faint of heart as Veteran and farm owner/manager, we were nervous of the rollover risk. We are very concerned about other people accessing this site and their safety. With the access safety issue aside, it is essential to request detailed directions whether you arrive day or night. Other than that, the mountain-top site is absolutely gorgeous, well-kept and maintained. We highly recommend for car/tent camping for this site. A gem of a location! Just only go there if you have AWD or 4x4 and not pulling a trailer.

Great views and private location. Make sure you get directions ahead of time. I did not, but the host was still very responsive at the relatively late hour I arrived. It was very windy, so I opted for car camping instead of tent camping, which wasn’t a problem.

I never got to stay. I never received proper directions. We saw the number of the address but apparently it was not the right place. I had asked for exact address but she never sent it..I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money. After we couldn't find it we left and found some where else to camp.
