Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

NEVERLAND Cabin Wilder

The setting of the cabin is perfect. It’s peaceful, very few people come down the road and the view is gorgeous. The swing and hammock are so nice too. Unfortunately, there was a fire ban so we were unable to have a fire. There are plenty of cooking and cleaning supplies in the kitchen but the drawers are rather unorganized and messy. The cabin was just not clean in general. There was mouse poop to be found, the comforter on the futon was pretty nasty, like it hadn’t been washed in some time. If you’re hoping to sleep in the loft be aware it’s accessible only via a metal construction ladder. There were three of us so I chose to sleep on the floor as that seemed like a terrifying thing to have to do in the middle of the night if I needed to go to the bathroom. Overall it was a really nice stay, it just would have been so much nicer with a safer way to get to the loft and if it were a bit more organized and clean. I would return simply for the peacefulness of it, the deck, swing and hammock, understanding that it’s just a glorified camping experience.

Incredible secluded views!!

This was my first time doing Hipcamp and it was such an amazing experience! Cole’s directions were spot on for getting to the site and the views are amazing. The cabin is nothing too special, recommend bringing your own bedding for the futon as it looked a tad crusty but otherwise a perfect spot. We will be back!

Such a beautiful spot. Stayed for a couple of nights. The walk from the parking area isn’t ideal if you are alone and have stuff to carry. Remember you have to carry it back up. The cabin was perfect, there was wood but a stage 2 fire ban was in effect but the outside temperature was actually quite ideal. The sofa, don’t expect a cloud. I probably will bring my cot along if I plan to stay again. Very quiet, helicopters kept going by pretty frequently don’t know if there was any fires or anything in the area but they don’t linger. The road is actually not that bad, to be honest I think a Kia could make it of the driver knows how to drive.

Beautiful!

I absolutely loved the cabin at Camp Wilder! It was perfect for our group and the views were stunning! Be sure to have a high clearance car, it’s a bumpy ride to get there. Absolutely worth it though (especially first thing in the morning)!

Camp Wilder (Entire Property)

Nice spot to hang out and visit looking at a beautiful view. The cabin was a bit crowded for 5 people and two dogs, but with one person and a dog sleeping with nature on the porch all was good.
