The Zella Hut is a cabin built in the late 1800's. It was redone in the 70's and recently updated with mid century modern interiors. Now it serves as a backcountry hut in the winter and glamping cabin in the summer. During the winter it can be accessed by skinning, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. During the summer it can be accessed by car. Its a small cabin, but it can sleep 4 in comfort. No Rv campers, van and sprinter rvs ok.Zella Hut is nestled between beautiful ancient bristlecones in a very private location steps from the Decalibron Loop- 4 amazing 14ers accessible from the cabin and endless private hiking trails on the vast property. The cabin is clean, cozy and very mountain modern. Its a small cabin but very functional- note it is a one bedroom, open space. No Rvs. van and sprinter rvs ok. There are 2 king murphy beds that fold down for sleeping and fold up when not in use making the space feel very big and open. There is a new modern leather couch on rollers that makes it easy to arrange the space to your needs. There is also a folding dining table and chairs and a small coffee table. There is a stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook. There is a sink with 6 gal of fresh drinking water per stay. There is a large granite countertop that you can prepare food on. There is a bathroom inside with a dometic toilet. Note the bathroom has glass doors. Its cozy and surrounded by Italian tile. The water system is seasonal, summer only! There is a modern free standing wood fireplace with a large glass opening so you can stay warm on those cold nights in style. There are usb charging stations to power up your devices. There is a large modern deck that has a grill and burner for cooking and preparing food. The deck also has a built in seating area. The deck is the perfect place to sit and enjoy peace and quiet while being at one with nature. During the summer you'll see moose walk through daily and the neighborhood owl, elk and fox. During the summer there is a creek side solar thermal dipping tub surrounded by a pond, adjacent to a 7' waterfall. Your own private hot springs! Reopening in 2025. Please inquire before booking to check on opening date. Cabin amenities: Outdoor Grill for cooking Covered deck with seating Inside kitchen with sink and cooking accessories Inside portable dometic toilet (summer only); Bucket Toilet during winter months Outdoor instant hot water shower on the deck (summer only) Indoor wood stove 2 king size beds with memory foam mattress. During the winter it can be accessed by snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, skinning or snowmobile. Its the perfect setup for winter getaways for amateur travelers and also offers extreme activities for experienced backcountry travelers. In the winters it's a ski-in location with some of the most amazing backcountry riding right out the door. There are multiple amazing ski lines with 2+ days of riding. Snowmuch Fun ☺️Happy hipcampers
My fiance and I spent Valentine's weekend at the cabin during winter. We enjoyed our trip! Such a well-built cabin with very thought out amenities. We would love to come back again. The Host is great at communicating and will answer any of your questions. The 3 mile snowshoe trek in was fun! Wish we brought skiis to ski nearby. FYI You will be stepping outside to pee. The host did require us to sign a rental agreement/ liability waiver and send a copy of a credit card.

We really loved it. The place is so serene and quiet and far out from civilization. The surrounding area is extremely beautiful too, with so many walks. We even saw bears and elks on the hill opposite us. On the whole it was one of the best experiences of our life. The cabin itself is just one single space but extremely well designed and built. Everything has been carefully planned for

Mr Hike a lot
The setting is absolutely amazing, acres of land and no one in sight. Kevin was an awesome host and gave us plenty of good tips about local hikes. The cabin is cozy and super cute, I can’t recommend it enough.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at this cabin! It’s the perfect spot for a quick getaway. There is a generous amount of amenities provided which made us feel very comfortable. While we could’ve used the fire pit outside, we ended up not using it because the indoor wood burning stove was sufficient and convenient. It was cozy and kept us warm (would recommend cracking the front door open of the cabin while starting up the fire so it doesn’t get too smoky inside). We made good use of the grill and enjoyed all of our meals on the deck while enjoying the beautiful views. Would also recommend hiking to Windy Ridge if you’re not up for a 14er and just looking for a moderate hike. We would love to stay here again!
