Enjoy 40 acres of semi-backcountry themed camping next to a 18-hole disc golf course. Stay in an airplane, VW bus, or shepherds wagon. Remote and private far away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to civilization if needed. There are several rock outcroppings, tons of trees and a seasonal creek and waterfall. There is a moderate hike to/from the sites, we can take you and your gear to it via utv or if you have Awd SUV or 4wd, you can drive to the sites. Close to the historic gold-mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek. Take the Gold-belt byway scenic driving loop down Phantom Canyon to Canon City and back via Shelf Road. Fishing is 20 minutes away at Skagway Reservoir.

Shepherds Wagon
Amazing mountain getaway
Hosts Tami and Larry we’re absolutely wonderful and welcoming. They put a lot of effort into their property and it shows. I highly recommend the propane fire pit. A serene mountain getaway with wonderful views day and night. The stars we’re amazing. We had a lovely evening and will definitely return.

Shepherds Wagon
Tami and Larry sent very detailed instructions on how to get to their place with plenty of signs as well, Larry met us at check-in to orient us to the property and give some local suggestions for our stay. We loved how much space that was inside the wagon to store items for our 2-night stay (I think the wagon has the most room compared to the airplane and VW bus that is also on their property)! You can still see the other sites from your site but definitely far enough to feel like you have your own space. The mattress was appreciated inside the wagon too. Nice to have a dry flush toilet and sink with running water for the bathroom as well! And heed the warning, you definitely need AWD to get to the sites.

Awesome and Unique Experience
Such a great and unique experience. We stayed in the plane and it was awesome. Fit my wife and two dogs just fine. We utilized a propane fire pit and it was perfect. Bathrooms were nice. Tami and Larry were great hosts! Will definitely be back.

Great hosts
I loved the location, it’s a beautiful spot up in the mountains and the bus and shepherds wagon make for a really unique and fun experience. The real standout is the hosts. Tami and her husband are super kind, flexible and just overall great people. They’re the perfect hosts and I can’t recommend them enough. We got to the site late and had trouble finding the right road and they walked us through it and helped us, and they were super patient throughout the process. The only tip I have for people going out to camp, arrive before dark. It’s out in the mountains and we were late to arrive and it’s hard to see on the back roads. It’s a beautiful drive, so don’t miss out on the beauty, also don’t make a headache for yourself by not being able to see where you’re going.
