The House where we live is the corner stone of the Bruce Property and is on the Colorado Register of Historic Houses. The residence was constructed between 1905 and 1912, using red bricks made on the site. John and Sophia Bruce, early pioneers in the North Fork Valley, were first involved in cattle raising. The family later became successful fruit growers. Located along the West Elk Loop, a Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway, the large two-story residence features a steeply pitched hipped roof with prominent attic dormers. As a guest of Riverwalk you will have full access to the river during your stay. In addition, there is the Riverwalk Trail System that skirts the North Fork of the Gunnison River from the top of the property, by the Riverwalk Yurt, (available on this site) meandering downstream past the Riverwalk TIPI (available on the site) passing the Grove Yurt (available on this site) and terminating at the bottom of the property with the sandy Riverwalk Beach. There is a trial that zigs through the Cottonwood Grove and zags back along the gentle Monitor Ditch skirting a newly planted grove of young trees. For RV Campers we provide 2- 30amp,1-50 amp and 1- 110-amp electrical services and potable water. There is a dump station available. There is also access to our heated shower house with running water and bathroom amenities (<3 min. walk, may be shared with other guests). The property is perfectly geared to groups of friends gathering in a central location between the onset of the Rockies and the termination high desert to the west. Friends or family will reserve both Yurts and the RV Site for a perfect reunion setting!

Riverwalk RV Site 1

Great Stay

I enjoyed parking my campervan on George's property. The surrounding area was absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful location for beautiful views. The site itself had a great table, chairs and a hammock. The site was very aesthetically pleasing and had some beautiful metalwork design pieces. I love that he has the riverside decked out with chairs. The shower house is a true work of art and I especially enjoyed having a shower outside. The stars were unbelievable from George's property. I will definitely be back, but will plan on staying a few nights next time.

Tipi camping with Shower House

We had a wonderful stay at George's! We were running behind schedule, and George took great care to make sure that we knew how to get to our site okay. Everything was very clean. Even though the other sites were within walking distance, there were lots of trees to make it feel private. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing stay!

We loved our stay! The set-up with the fire pit and seating areas are really cosy and we loved the shower house, very clean. We saw a herd of deer grazing near the RV in the morning which was magical!

Riverwalk RV Site 1

Funky and Fun

The site is funky and fun. Host is very nice, great location by the river. Not a typical campground, there is power, water and a dump but not like a KOA. I like it that way, just know that you are staying in an informal place. The fancy yurt looked really nice as well. We stayed for a concert next door at Big B's and enjoyed wine and snacks at Root and Vine.

The River Walk campsite was a delightful place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there – it was peaceful and well-designed. The charming bathhouse features both indoor and outdoor showers.

Tipi camping with Shower House

Perfect getaway near Paonia

The property was beautiful, Tipi and Shower House were perfectly equipped with everything we could want. George was a wonderful host, keeping everything in tip-top shape and giving us local tips on a shortcut to Big B's venue, coffee shops in Hotchkiss, etc. What a lovely place! We hope to make this a yearly trip!
