Overall we had a great stay, and would give it 4 stars. The cabin is situated in a stunning location with breathtaking views from the large window - a real highlight of the stay. There are plenty of beautiful walks and charming pubs nearby, all within walking distance. For those who enjoy a rustic, back-to-nature experience, this cabin has a lot to offer.
The e-brochure provided a couple of days before our stay was informative, but we felt that some key details were missing from the initial listing, which would have influenced our decision to book.
Description did not include the following:
• There are two cabins in the field, about 50-75 meters apart, so the setting is not completely secluded (not mentioned in the listing).
• The cabin is located about 300m from the car park. The walk is across a field which is a bit tricky if you are unprepared, especially if you arrive at night or if it’s muddy. We’d recommend bringing wellies and a torch.
• The cabin has USB chargers only (no regular sockets).
• The toilet is a compost system, which is eco-friendly but may not suit everyone’s preference.
• Solar electricity converter a bit disruptive at night. It can’t be turned off. Earplugs can help.
To enhance the experience, we'd suggest:
•Addition of some functional touches (small, but important!). For instance, adding a place to keep a cup of water when in bed. Bigger door mat for muddy boots.
