Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the river, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! It’s up to you. We are a peaceful, safe location from which you can stage your Florida adventure. Come on by. We look forward to hosting you! Nearest I-95 exit/3 miles away. Watch rocket launches, visit nearby beaches, attend NASCAR races, see local communities of New Smyrna Beach or Titusville, relax at Canaveral National Seashore, birdwatch at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, fish Mosquito Lagoon, or visit the amusement parks of Orlando, we are a safe and quiet location to stage your adventures from! Whew! That’s a lot for the tiny price of $27/night! We have a nice level, grassy campsite, complete with a fire ring, picnic table, and firewood. Nothing fancy, but we are clean, secure, private and gated. You can come and go as you please, and day-trip all over beautiful Central Florida!(Not a commercial campground.) Charming!

Utterly charming! Basic, but with essentials. Nice tree for shade. Couldn’t take advantage of the fire ring as it had been exceedingly dry in the area - no burn order in effect. But a perfect place to recharge after a day at the beach.

Wasn't what I expected from the site. I did not stay nor did I see where one would check in or see anyone. Just gates and Stuff... Nothing to let you know where you were. A backwoods lodging.

Loved this spot

We arrived and found the site very easily. Everything we needed was left for us and we were not bothered at all. Host came to say hello very briefly evening time but did not linger and was very nice and polite. We felt very safe and secluded with great star and sky views. Plenty of shade and great fire pit. Beautiful owl and cicada sounds at night and squirrel sounds in the morning. When it was time to go we simply pulled out and left without any issues. Outhouse is clean and works and is a good distance from the camp but easily accessible and has a light for mid night potty needs. We were surprised to see a tent there presumably for use though we had our own. Fire wood was already on site and lots of woods if more was needed. Great spot and we will be back. There is lighting around the site and suggest unplugging it when you go to bed and it is a little bright in the middle of the night but perfect for camping needs.
